If the reasoning behind allowing gay marriages is to give them the legal privileges of marriage, it won't be long before single people will also want the privileges of marriage, either by default or by self-marriage.

Polygamy is legal in Apple Valley, close to the AZ/UT border.

There really shouldn't be any difference anyways. It merely puts pressure on people to get married for the wrong reasons. And of course If you care for a child then you should have benefits. Those are two different things mind you..
