No, it is not illegal in Mississippi or Alabama. It is legal in all 50 states. Alabama did still have the ban in it's constitution, but it was repealed in 2000. It was only a matter of formality and of removing the wording though, because the Supreme Court had already ruled in the 60's that such bans were unenforceable.

Races would mean you have to define which races and which groups, Oriental, Arab, American Indian, Indian, could even go as far as Slavic and Latin.

As someone said this was important 30 years ago and today we are better than that.

That's what I was trying to tell you. It's *not* on the books as being illegal, anywhere. I think South Carolina took it out in the late 90's, but when Alabama removed it in 2000, that was the end of it. ;-}
