that sucks! never happened to me

slackologist 03-11-2004 01:59 PM

that sucks.. the file might be fixable, but i bet it could easily cost you more to have it fixed than to start from scratch.

I have bad luck with these peice of shit computers

Just bought this one and its causin me grief already :P

Amputate Your Head 03-11-2004 02:23 PM

it's not your computer. It's a photoshop bug. I've seen this happen to other people before. Only thing I know for sure about it is, you won't get your file back.

yeah , I was thinking that much , I have another of these files I open every couple of months just to see if it opens , but its never going to .

Last time it happened I lost TBD 4.0 and it was gonna be fucking stellar

DreamCumTrue 03-11-2004 02:26 PM

That sucks...I know how you feel, my laptop freezes often in the middle of work, so I have to make an effort to save periodically.

Amputate Your Head 03-11-2004 02:29 PM

you might try opening it in FWMX.... might be able to save it.

nice thing about FWMX is it can maintain PSD layering.... where PS can't maintain FWMX layering.

anyway, give it a shot.... might work.

CDSmith 03-11-2004 02:33 PM

It's actually never happened to me either. I use Paint Shop Pro 8.

But I can relate..... so I feel your pain. There have been times when I hadn't saved my work and my computer locked up at just that typical wrong fucking moment..... and I haven't forgotten. I learned to fucking save my work at every turn.

Draw a line.... save.
Adjust the midtones..... save.
Crop, resize and sharpen.... fucking save.

anything less is..... uncivilized.

I did my first years of design using little used " ulead photoimpact"
Nice little proggy to use for basic design ,
but it constanty just shut my PC off if I got too detailed in my work and the files got too big .

Im used to saving often ..
Funny thing is I saved purposely before fucking with the wires and still lost it

Im just shaking my head .
Luckily it was mostly flash bricks , so I still have sections of it :)
not enough to chill tonight now though :P

Yep
thats what killed my other corrupt file .
Imageready is PSD hell if you get caught up in a shitty export .
