Spotbrokers offically thieves!

Below an email that i recieved

Hello,

My name is Stu Sandhaus and I'm the new owner of Spotbrokers (please login to the main site at http://www.spotbrokers.com and click on LATEST NEWS - Feb 11 for additional details). I took over approx. a month ago and to be perfectly honest I was under the impression that the BannerClix program had been shut down and wasn't functioning.
From what I understood, it was a program that never really got off the ground...was sort of 'still-born'. It has recently come to my attention that there are possibly some people still trying to use it. Unfortunately, at this time we are going to have to shut it down completely. There are a lot of other issues that need to be taken care of so I'm unable to devote the time and resources into this project. It is possible that we might try the program again, but I can't say for sure. The program will be shut down in the next 24 hours, so please remove any banners or links you
may have to it.

According to the stats, it appears as if some users have a current balance. Naturally I wasn't involved with Spotbrokers at the time the program started, I didn't receive those funds and I don't have access to the account that the deposit was received in. What I would like to do so that it's not a total loss for anyone is to re-deposit any current balances
+ a 25% bonus into your gallery traffic account. I'm sorry that this
+ has
happened like this, but it is something that was beyond my control.

Again, the BannerClix program will be shut down within the next 24 hours, so please remove any banners and/or links you may have to it

Sincerely,

Stu Sandhaus
[email protected]

Seems like old owner sold the program without paying people that are owed $$ and the new owner is not planing on paying that either.

Hope he did not pay more thenthe software is worth only an idiot would send traffic to a program that ripped them off.

AcidMax 03-10-2004 03:13 PM

Wasnt this the one KK was involved in? Or am i thinking of something else? Or was she not involved at all? Not trying to start shit, just inquiring.

EDIT: A few of us must have been posting the KK question at the same time.

BradM 03-10-2004 03:13 PM

Dude... gimme a break. He can't take a loss on a program he thought was disabled.

Oh she was involved alright, it's funny how this operation changed hands in private and she just washed her hands of it while so many people were getting fucked over.

Heywood Jablome 03-10-2004 03:14 PM

It sounds to me like Stu is trying to make good - crediting your gallery traffic accounts + 25%.

Strife 03-10-2004 03:15 PM

popcorn worthy drama

Babaganoosh 03-10-2004 03:16 PM

Stu is good people. I consider a credit + 25% pretty fair. Nobody is being ripped off here.

agreed but who's fault is it that he did not check out the stats before he bought the program to see if anyone is owed $$$?
I remeber people bitching about not getting paid months ago.

Backov is a scumbag. At least the new owner is trying to make up for what people would have never recived if Backov was still part of spotbrokers.

Very true, he could just say piss off , but he didnt at least he is giving out credit for part of the program he was aware of. Thats just fucked that webmasters were not paid out.

Rictor 03-10-2004 03:22 PM

Sounds like the only scammers were the previous owners. The new owner seems to be trying to make things right.

Traffic seems like fair payment for a debt that isn't his. It's not like traffic is free.

Strikes me as a touch slow on the uptake, but at least he's taking action on it I guess. You can always send the hits to my galleries :Graucho

Lets say i had $100 in the account i would have to deposit another $100 into the account to have $125 in there with his credit thats me still loosing $75 on the deal nothing against Stu at all but i would still be getting fucked.

lol...you can't read...he said he would give you a CREDIT + 25%...so you'll get $125 worth in traffic if you had 100 in the account and you wouldn't have to deposit anything.

Hello,

First let me say that this is basically my fault. It is true that I should have been more on top of things and taken care of this in a more timely fashion.

sandman, I'd have appreciated an email to me first as opposed to an immediate posting on GFY without giving me a chance to try and work with you to your satisfaction. Anyone who knows me knows that I rarely say anything negative about anyone, so I'll keep my thoughts to myself. However, I thnk it is very unprofessional to make a posting like this without having emailed my first with your needs or complaints. Also, I don't understand your math. If you were owed $100, I would be re-depositing your $100 and adding $25 to it for a total of $125.

As I have stated on here before, the previous owners are good and honorable people. Their main concern was that anyone owed money be taken care of and this was part of our agreement. They could have just walked away from the program and left everyone high-and-dry, but they did not. They made sure that I would do my best to try and get all webmasters satisfied. My personal apologies to them for all of this. Without getting into our personal business, they TRULY do NOT deserve to have all this negative shit put on them!!

This thing with the BannerClix program is unfortunate, but it was NOT an attempt on anyone's part to rip anyone off. In hindsight, I should have offered a refund as an option, but I thought what I was doing was more than fair. If anyone would prefer a refund, please email my your Paypal email address ([email protected]) and I'll take care of it.

i got paid, shemp got paid, maybe emailing him before you accuse him of being a thief might come in handy

Juke 03-10-2004 05:50 PM

The only thieves here are apparently KK and Backov. I didn't get paid till some good honest man named "stu" paid me all the money spotbrokers owed me.

In my opinion, Stu is the only man who is really fucked here.

Stu, you are too good for this world.

Nasty 03-10-2004 05:51 PM

This guy is ok in my book, after he bought spotbrokers, he sent me an email asking for my paypal info, I emailed it to him and he paid me in full within 20 minutes :thumbsup

Mike-BP 03-11-2004 01:35 AM

Stu is a good guy, Kimmykim and backov are the scammers here - I would NEVER EVER do business with these 2 cheaters again.

Jon 03-11-2004 01:38 AM

Selling other people's traffic without actually knowing the conversion rates??

Thieves??

nawww.. ya think?

I'd love to see a traffic broker who's traffic actually converts at normal ratios or better. Chances are very good, that they just don't exist.

baddog 03-11-2004 01:42 AM

I have a whole box of microwave popcorn . . . . maybe I should set up a stand and sell it?

boneprone 03-11-2004 01:46 AM

I dont think Kimmy Kim and Backov are scammers at all..

Backov had a vision for something good here. He didnt have deep enough pockets to keep it afloat and things didnt work out and all went to shit... It happens..

Sucks yes... But did he and Kimmy Kim intentionally "SCAM" or have full intention to rip people off from the start with this??

No.. I mean come on.. They were both at one time pretty reputable people in the biz.. Not scammers. Just grave diggers.

Its just a program that went wrong.. Very wrong.. Thats it. And when shit got rough they handled it in the worse way possible.. Publically..... Pointing fingers, name calling and labeling people as cheaters, not to mention not paying as they went along.

In the end it was just a shitty program created by Backov, backed by a shitty attitude that was kimmy kim.. Not Scammers..

Im not defending them in any way, many of my friends who I know are top notch honest webmasters were called cheaters when they were in fact not.. Many webmasters in Europe were easily labeled as cheaters and publically called cheaters for the sake of not paying them.. When the going got rough they did get ugly..

Sucks that so many of you didnt get paid, buds like EasyPic and others are owed thousands.. Bud they will go on.. As Im sure Kimmy Kim and Backov will as well..

I have no idea why this stu guy would buy something that has as bad a rep in the tgp community as this did.. Makes no sense to me.. I wish all those involved luck in getting paid. Just a bad situation overall for everyone.
