A suggestion on computer viruses

A suggestion on computer viruses

How come, as most of the west is on a anti terrorism campaign, why not bring computer viruses under terrorism law.

It seems to me that a computer virus has far more potential to course major damage far more than any small bomb, and I suspect that computer viruses are courses huge financial problems.

As such, why not charge anyone involved with computer viruses as a terrorist.

What do others think?

viruses are invented by companies liek microsoft so they can sell you more software ...and the government allow it because they get free "big brother" information in return.

I think under that new Patriot Act they can and are. Not for sure though.

What I wonder a lot, is that many of these creating computer viruses are kids with some computer knowledge.

I suspect there are people out there who have far more knowledge and could create viruses that could do great damage, maybe shut down the web or worse.

By making it a serious crime, I wonder how many kids would be so keen to mess around with viruses. Though to be honest, I am surprised how slow Microsoft and others are to respond. Surely with all the cash they have, they would pay people to go on the hackers sites, to see what the latest code is, so they could respond much faster.
