How much is your time worth?

How much do you think you earn per hour of work you do? and/or how valuable to do you consider your time to be?

psyko514 03-09-2004 03:04 AM

Epic Cash earns me an easy $780 an hour.

Doctor Dre 03-09-2004 03:04 AM

When I'm with a client I charge anywhere from 30-60 an hour . When I work for myself I'd say I do 15-25 an h ... maybe more I dunno.

Depends what you consider work . I don't consider GFY work.

riosluts 03-09-2004 03:05 AM

I calculated mine a year ago it turned out to be something like $19-24/hr. I was amazed since its like 4x higher than a min wage job

Rorschach 03-09-2004 03:06 AM

That's a hard question, because I go through periods of long hours of hard work setting things up, but then the cream rolls in after that with only minimal maintenance work while I slack off for a while.

True.. yours is probably a similar situation to what a lot of people in this business experience, an hour or two of work on one day may earn you 100's or 1000's of dollars over a 12 month period.

baddog 03-09-2004 03:15 AM

My clients pay about $50/hr on average, but that is a one hour minimum fee. If I am there for 5 minutes, or 60 minutes, I get paid the same . . . so I try to work really, really fast.

juicybucks 03-09-2004 03:18 AM

Honestly, to me, my time is worth at least $20/hr.
Doing contract work, it'd have to be double that.

stocktrader23 03-09-2004 03:25 AM

Hundreds.

4Pics 03-09-2004 03:25 AM

That's a great way to charge, we have a flat fee (up to 1hr) which slides and eventually plateaus as the hours build up.

bhutocracy 03-09-2004 06:06 AM

not as much as it used to be :)

guschi2k 03-09-2004 06:09 AM

somewhere between $50-80 i think...

klinton 03-09-2004 06:10 AM

hoe_vender 03-09-2004 07:25 AM

Priceless

slapass 03-09-2004 07:30 AM

I just told some people $125/hour but I was glad they turned me down. So I must have priced myself about right.

Ash@phpFX 03-09-2004 08:08 AM

thats very difficult to gauge, it mostly goes that you put work in for a few weeks or months and then you get the payoff for it.

Lykos 03-09-2004 09:42 AM

Hmm....1000$ per hour,wish:)

zentz 03-09-2004 09:48 AM

15$ per hour :( ... but i am getting better :)

Head 03-09-2004 09:52 AM

I sure as hell don't like waisting it!!

PbG 03-09-2004 10:40 AM

I bill out at $39-100/hr depending upon the services rendered. Now if only I had some clients :1orglaugh

mhende6600 03-09-2004 11:17 AM

I just got off the phone with a new client that offered me $150, guess I will have to take a drive to LA, this will be too easy.

It is guys like this that keep me from closing up my mainstream biz.

turbomax 03-09-2004 12:13 PM

used to be $150 and hour but it's been going south latley

jedmaster2112 03-09-2004 12:45 PM

It really depends on the project. I could do a whole page for a friend for free, or I can charge upwards of $50 an hour. You really have to go with your gut on what to charge, it is a difficult thing to do, but I am starting to get the hang of it.

yep, this is often the way... but how much would you charge for contract work etc?

axelcat 03-09-2004 04:01 PM

Yeah.. one thing i've learnt is to NEVER under quote. It's easy to lower your rates but very hard to increase them when dealing in a high exposure market ("But it was cheaper last week! what's changed? er.. nothing.. well we painted it another color") etc, doesn't always go down well.

mammy 03-10-2004 02:13 AM

depends on the kind of work i do
can do paysite for 350 in 4 hours
and can do 100 banners in 2-3 days for 500 :winkwink:
so price for hour work differs from 5 to 75 usd:glugglug

KRL 03-10-2004 02:15 AM

A lot.

HomeTown_Hero 03-10-2004 02:24 AM

my going rate is 3.50 and i don't do windows.

woj 03-10-2004 02:35 AM

I work for food...

HeadPimp 03-10-2004 02:39 AM

If someone wants to hire for most jobs it is $25-50 an hour...

Not that I do much outside work anymore... Mostly as favors..
