Do you believe in God? Jesus? The Bible? Etc. ?
 

Ok fine every now and then ill spit out a prayer in hopes that there is a "God", but do we really have proof of any real God?

Fact is, we only have documented proof that Jesus was an actual man, and that he actually went through what the Bible says he did. However we dont have any documented proof that he is actually the son of God at all, why is it even beleived?

Why do some people refuse to beleive that we evolved into what we are today?

I had some chick at work go off at me about some guy named Darwin that said there was no such thing as evolution? She says that the images we see of the past of what we think are cavemen, are actually 900yr old people and thats why they are hunched over. She says the bible described this is how we were until God cut our life span 2 times?

I dunno, i hate to disbeleive, but it just seams more logical that science had a big role in our being, and that evolution definately exists. I mean dont we have solid scientific evidence of evolution?

I didnt go to sunday school. I consider myself Catholic only to an extent, and by no means practicing.

For the record she is also very against premarital sex. Says that when having sex without being married, that the sins of the other person get transferred to your soul, and you become marked or something?

she is heavy into this crap and thats fine, but some of it just doesnt make sense.

personally i think heaven is a myth, made up to comfort morning people.

i think (or atleast would like to) reincarnation is possible.

i think chances are that when you die, you DIE. nothing left, no afterlife, no reincarnation, etc.

I had this very conversation with some 7th day adventists last week. I got so mad! They are impossible to reason with. Im not sure if I belive in a higher power, but I sure as hell belive in evolution!

Also i said how we didnt have proof of Noahs Ark, she quickly said we did! She said they found a boat on top of a mountain or something, proving that the oceans had risen to that level and left the boat stranded there

Noone has EVER asserted that we evolved from apes.

The theory is that modern apes, monkeys and other lower primates have the same ANCESTORS as human beings, we evolved from the same origin.

Yes, I do. I'm sure some of the information we have been passed over the hundreds and thousands of years has been messed up somehow, but I still believe in Jesus.

I have heard the bible has lead to more archaeological findings than any other book in history. Maybe someone knows this for a fact?

There were 3 of them, 1 of me. They said that there is proof of the great flood becuase all fossils are facing up, there is only 1 layer on the earth, and it was cuased by the great flood, and that if all the ice in the world melted the earth would not be covered in water becuase god promised that would never happen again. I couldnt debate with them becuase when I tried to show them scientific theories, they said christians have always been prosecuted, ect ect. GRRR! I gave up.

Now as we speak about god, religion and higher meanings, i had the jehovas knock on my door today, sure I opened up and they asked me without doing a proper introducing if I quote "Feel threatened of a nuclear war" hmmm I just said that i had no problems and was in no need of their help. Now afterwards i should have let them in and given them some valium, hey common reeeelax. Thinking about nuclear war every day cant be healthy.
