A Blood Vessel in My Eye Exploded!

I'll be ok. It just looks real nasty; my left eye is all red. it bled inside between two lairs. I either sneezed or picked up something to have caused this.

detoxed 03-08-2004 06:31 PM

Get your BP checked under real circumstances (not at home kicking back on the couch). The next time it might be in your brain.:eyecrazy

GiantGnome 03-08-2004 06:42 PM

I had that happen to me when I was a kid. Youll be fine in about a week.

Dirty F 03-08-2004 06:42 PM

You farted too hard?

XXXManager 03-08-2004 06:43 PM

heh. I know that thing :) It does look nasty :feels-hot
But its nothing to be worried about.
Its not really a dangerous thing and afaik, you don't need to check anything.
This usually goes over after few days. A week or so and it will all be gone :)
Pics would be ""nice"" (more like nasty).

I hope you had a doctor take a look at it. If not, better get your butt to one asap. You never know what damage may be done now or down the line.

WoDaT 03-08-2004 09:15 PM

if you get any odd bruising on your legs or arms or if your gums bleed when you brush your teeth, get to a doctors right away, and get a complete blood workover.

Probably just gingivitis (brush more). I think what the Shemp is getting at is abnormal blood production - particularily low platelets. These are responsible for your blood's clotting properties. Low platelets can be a sign of something serious (autoimmune disorders, cancer, internal bleeding), especially if the numbers are low enough to result in easy bleeding or bruising.

riosluts 03-08-2004 11:41 PM

I knew a guy who did that. His cat hit him and his vessel exploded also. It looked so damn nasty but after a week or two it went away.

Thank you for telling me I'm a dirty bleeder who spends too much time working and not enough time taking care of my personal hygiene.

monica 03-08-2004 11:51 PM

My friend had a really bad sinus infection and it caused her eyes to turn red with what looked like blood leaking into the whites of her eyes. It looked scary... should have taken pics for sure!

Rorschach 03-08-2004 11:58 PM

There should be pics in this thread by now.

it could mean you have a blood disorder, especially if you get easily bruised or have blood in the eyes. just get some blood work done to reassure yourself.

I'm normally the type that puts my head in the sand telling myself all is ok when it comes to health issues.

Very foolish I know. I've read your previous threads, and you're right. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Axeman 03-09-2004 12:41 AM

Ouch hopefully it clears up fast and doesnt cause you any damage.

pimplink 03-09-2004 01:33 AM

Take a lot of rest. take care.
