Every gotten totally carbed out?

I think I have.

I've been eating low carb, balanced carbs, good carbs for a long time now. Saturday I took a trip to Costco with the boys along (big mistake). Ended up coming home with all sorts of bread type things.hahahahahahahahas, muffins, brownies, etc. Of course I made the mistake of "just one". Well even with just one..all of Sunday and now today I've felt completely out of it. All I want to do it sleep. It's like I can't fully wake up.

Never again.

BradM 03-08-2004 12:20 PM

Never had that... no... ;)
You on that atkins deal? I wouldn't/couldn't do it personally

cherrylula 03-08-2004 12:21 PM

I ate like crap all weekend so today is salad and lean meat.

I know what you mean, we ordered pappa johns pizza yesterday and today is like payback for it :1orglaugh

Actually ran into some girl scouts and damn them cookies too.

NaughtyJenn 03-08-2004 12:22 PM

not healthy for ya :(

Rictor 03-08-2004 12:23 PM

I'm have beef stew for breakfast at 2:30 pm. Is that bad?

PersianKitty 03-08-2004 12:24 PM

No not atkins.

I've done Zone before which is 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fats. There no induction, etc. It works well. Makes you feel great.

Beyond that when I've not Zoned I usually keep an eye on calories and keep the heavy carbs to a minimum going for low glycemic carbs instead. This weekend was totally off the wagon for me. I'll never do it again. Tossed out a bunch of the stuff from Costco bakery while listening to the boys screech.

I know just how you feel, been low-carbing for months, then this weekend I've had a few carby snacks and nibbles and feel lousy for it :(

liquidmoe 03-08-2004 12:39 PM

Weekends are my pig out days, the rest of the week I try to eat healthy or at least be semi-concious of what Im stuffing in my mouth. But on the weekends I always end up overeating.

DeanCapture 03-08-2004 01:14 PM

Don't be so hard on yourself PK - I do the same thing.

I've been doing my own version of Atkins now since last summer and have maintained my weight. Every once in a while I'll eat something that I know is not good for me but I make peace with myself because I know that 90 percent of the time I'm a good boy :Graucho

Yesterday I ordered a thin-crust pizza from PapaJohns.com and am feeling exactly what you have described. I feel like I'm half asleep - haven't gotten enough rest - very lazy! Not sure what it is but it may very well be those carbs from the pizza - my body is just not used to that!

clickhappy 03-08-2004 01:19 PM

why don't you just cut to the chase and get a trainer and/or a nutritionist?
It's hard to do anything tough by yourself, and I'd think in the end you'd save a lot of money and frustration.

rounders 03-08-2004 01:20 PM

hahah..yea

feel the same way

sumphatpimp 03-08-2004 01:26 PM

the carbs convert to sugar and your body reacts to that and makes insulin to use up the sugar, so you feel sleepy.
go run it off.

Nysus 03-08-2004 01:29 PM

*hides the cookie he's eating*

I think it's fine to eat any kind of carb, so long as you don't shock yourself with a lot at once, and make sure you eat it with a meal to - include it as part of the meal so you can balance it all out..

Cheers,
Matt

I have been doing low carb for ages now. Actually, what you did is pretty normal. I have heard that the body just hits a point and you break down for some carbs. I have had it happen. Usually, I go get a bag of cookies and order a pizza. You feel like hell later.

Once every three months it comes around. Real weird.

ive been trying to gain weight so i feel like that after every meal. i always eat as much as i can and do it quick because it takes 20 minutes until your brain realizes you're full. my meals are always over 1000-1500 calories total.

BuckLover 03-08-2004 02:31 PM

I remember the good ol days when you could supersize! now I can't even get a bun on my burger: LOL

kristin 03-08-2004 02:33 PM

BuckLover 03-08-2004 02:36 PM

toonces 03-08-2004 03:27 PM

Axeman 03-08-2004 03:48 PM

I love carbs :Graucho

Vanilla DeVille 03-08-2004 04:37 PM

I try and cut out carbs all the time, but it's really difficult for me. I am a sucker for breads and pastas! :)

Carbs aren't bad.

There are just so many fat-asses that overeat.

You can eat Burger King cheeseburgers all day and as long as you are eating less than your maintenance calories, you will lose weight. (Not saying this is healthy)

Calories in VS. Calories Out.

X37375787 03-08-2004 04:46 PM

You know PK, I don't believe in all this low-carb bogus bullcrap diet thing. I think you can eat whatever you want, and as long as you excercise, you can still lose weight and live a balanced life. :thumbsup

Then again you don't get heaps of excercise in, would be my guess.

Do it like my mom. She's 54 this year, she does aerobics 3 times a week, then one spinning workout and once stepping... and some leight weights on the weekends. I swear she's in better condition than me, and the woman's 54. :winkwink:

Amen! Please tell that to all the fat-asses on the world, print flyers and drop them at schools. Something has to be done about the increasing amount of fat people on the world.
