... yes, I do believe that those companies will be relocating within the next 10 years. I seriously do believe that in 10 years time you do no longer need a domain name to do buiz, it will become more like a channel on digital TV.

... the only thing that has been holding back developements, is the worldwide recession we are in at the moment. once the stockmarket is picking up again, developements will kick in aswell. the web has come to a point where it can not get exploited more, the market will move into new fields, pretty much like a product relaunch using a new medium.

Sure, but how do you think you will navigate between these channels? I highly doubt domain names will become irrelevent anytime soon, though it could happen.

I totally agree with this one

lots of things in the age of technology were actually steps BACKWARD - think of cassettes and VHS tapes. They were steps backwards too.

The net is like a big schoolboy's work book
it's filled with porno and garbage when there is spose to be a better use (same as TV)

things are gonna change

and u thik those big companies liek ebayu google give a shit?? NO!
why? Because THEY have enuff $$$$$ to make the transition!

5 years ago people were saying the exact same thing.

Nothing changed.

If anything, .com domains are stronger today because they survived the rollout of .biz and all the other shitty TLDs that no one uses.

Domains will stick around with an annual increase of value for at least another 5 - 10 years.

I dont see other extrensions than .com kick in, neither
do i see the internet move from the browser to another
application anytime soon...

Actually i would say you cant go wrong buying that domain for $20k now.

Odin88 03-07-2004 11:26 PM

How many typeins does a regular 2 letter .com get? One that does not specifically mean anything special.
