Calling all designers to offer submissions for a logo for a site my G/F is building.

Company/URL name is www.daytonbodyjewelry.com

Colors requested are light blues, oranges, and black. I don't care what shade of each, but logos and designs should be done with those colors in mind.

The site is up, but is not taking orders, so if you want to check for banner size etc. feel free. The logo design will be used throughout the site on the banner in the header as well as on some paper stock such as business cards and promotional fliers.

She would like to launch this site next week and has a few hundred more items to add to it before it is ready. The design contest will last until Wednesday, March 10, 2004 @ 12:00a.m. EST.

I know 75 bucks isn't a whole lot for most of you guys bu this is thus far a low budget project and that was the number left for the logo design. Winner of the contest will be payed by PayPal $75.00 upon contest end and logo selection.

So witout further ado, let's see 'em if you got 'em!

Please post concepts or final designs in this thread as I would like feeddback from others as well on submitted work.

Good question. In my opinion a contest invokes a competetive nature in folks. Also brings out the newer designers that may want to start 'competing' with some of the more well know and popular designers.

She needs a links page to trade links. Get her site on some of these sites.

Nice site, haven't heard of them yet. They have some nice things there as well. We will be looking for more of these kinds of exchanges in the future, so if you have any more let me know. The other sites we've done like this relied on PPC traffic and did very well, but trading links would be good too. Thanks for the URL.

Sorry Doug, I missed your entry. It's a little plain. I was looking for something a little more chic and stylish. Maybe include one of the belly rings in the design or something.

Yea but if this was safe money I'm sure a desigenr would pick it up . But the idea of a contest is ideally to make a logo and get a chance to earn more $ .

If you want I can get somebody to do it for you like you want but he aiin't gonna do it in a contest where he's not sure if he'S wasting his time.

Typical branding logos.. $200, $300.. plus royalties if you're going to have it printed on merchandize you intend to sell.

this isn't India.. if you want work done for cheap you're gonna have to look elsewhere.

I normally charge 150 $ for a web logo and 400 $ for a corporate logo . No royalities, buyer holds all the copyrights .

Yea and it dosen't end up paying that much ... it cost me between 50-100 $ of graphic design for logos + I have to spend time telling them what to do etc .

With a Website like that, I'm convinced that you should go for something brandable and not all too spiced up.

Agreed: $75 for a chance of winning a logo is just plain stupid. Most designers charge more than $75 for logo when you come to them and they are sure they have the job.

Read the post again, no mention of printing on any merchandise. Also there is a link there to the site, so had you taken the time to looka and listen before you spouted off at the mouth, maybe some bit of what you said would be relevant.
