My sons 11 y/o friend has a seizure at my house...
Damn...
5:30 am , my 10 y/o son runs into my room and says his friend is having a Seizure.. Shit.. imagine that shit in the early a.m. Seems the poor kid has them from time to time and it happend to be at an overnight stay at my house. So, I call 911 and his mom, I has some po dunk fire department show up exactly 9 mins later.. good thing its not life or death! We live about 10 mins outside of town. A lesson to be learned when you want to live on a bunch of property and a big house. Luckily it's o.k. and he is alright, but none the less scary shit to have to endure for both him and us. |

Seems like you should get to know the parents of kids who come over so that you know what's up ahead of time in case anything happens. Parents should all know the parents of kids their kids hang out with. That sucks that happening, good thing he's alright.

Smart kid, at 10 i probably would have thought my friend was fucking with me or something.

We did know a bit already that he had seizures
but that his meds take care of that. Seems his late night playing XBOX with my son and the lack of sleep triggered it. |
i'm glad to hear he is okay.
|
so what does having a big house and property have to do with the story?

:) 9 minutes? That's fast. Try dealing with a volunteer fire department where everyone has to get out of bed and drive 5 to 10 minutes just to get to the fire station. |
got pics of the house?

Glad everything turned out ok!!!
:thumbsup |
incase anyone who reads this has a friend or someone they care about have a seizure and they are worried, theres an acupuncture point you can press with your finger that will stop it.
feel the crease where the bottom of your nose it attached to your upper lip? that crease, with about 1.5 pounds of pressure will stop a seizure dead in its tracks. |
Wow not cool at all !:(

The only thing you can do is make sure he doesn't hurt himself during the seizure and he's got a clean airway. Glad eveything is okay. |
I'm glad everyone if fine..:thumbsup

I faked a seizure to get out of class in school once
I guess it was believable since it worked |
You would think the parents would have warned you about it :2 cents:

I am glad that the kid is okay.
I used to work at a furniture refinishing factory in another town many years ago. One of the co-workers had seizures from time to time. We were told to make sure to put something between his teeth to make sure he wouldn't bite his tongue off. He was a great worker but scary as hell because he would have the seizures at least once a week. He always wore a bike helmet in case he banged his head while falling. |
in high school we had this kid with epilepsy... teachers felt sorry for him and let him slide while the rest of us worked hard and got shitty grades..
to top it off the kid was a complete asshole, i swear i tried to be nice to him the first year i knew him.. but then i gave up.. anyways.. if you ever work with an asshole with epilepsy (assuming anyone here works in an office job), a fun trick to play is to change the refresh rate on the monitor on them when their not there... they wont notice, but their brain will :evil-laug |
