DMOZ...bunch of lazy editors?
 

What's the best way to get into their directory. I've been submitting for over a year and still not listed. I submitted once every week. I'm thinking they are just lazy and sometimes I dream that their backlog of approving sites is a few hundred pages long. Any tips or suggestions? thanks in advance.

most dmoz editors are there to list their sites... and only approve other sites when they need to.

I tried to clear most of my queue every week tho, when I was there.

how bout i bribe one of the editors to list my sites? has anyone been successful doing this?

Becoming an editor to promote your own sites isn't allowed but I guess how would they find out right?...maybe I should apply. But if there is an editor that would take money to list my sites get in contact with me.

when you apply to be an editor just don't list your sites as suggestions of sites you'd submit...i did that and got denied....i know "i'm an idiot"...but i'll be trying again in a few months...hopefully they don't remember me

I have a suggestion. Only submit your site ONCE. Go here to check on the status of it but only bug them once a month at most.

thanks for the info....i went to their message boards and it looks like there are tons of people that don't get their sites listed in over a year.

Our old URL currently listed in DMOZ directory, synel-ind.com,, has been acquired by someone, who placed a disgusting pornographic site on it

Dmoz are the most corrupt group of people on earth, even more so than the government. Dmoz needs to be wiped off the face of the earth.

My mainstream site took 5 months I guess that's not too bad for DMOZ, seems like a long ass time to me.

I send 4-5 times request to become DMOZ editor...but doesn't get answer :(

Mine got reviewed in a month or so ... Definitely DON'T spam them every week!
