Need Steak Recipes

I'm starving and I have this choice porterhouse.I'm tired of just slapping sauce on it and broiling it..Gimme some ideas on how to prepare it.I know some of you actually cook.

Spunky 03-06-2004 06:50 PM

Don't any of you fuckers cook? :321GFY

Grind some fresh black pepper on your steak and broil it. Serve and dip in A-1 steak sauce. :thumbsup

Marinate that sucker in Lea and Perrins and black pepper... anything else is just lagniappe :)

I would prefer it marinated in HP.. then grilled slowly with indirect heat until just past medium.

a good steak shouldn't require any steaksauce when done... save it for the burgers.

Exactly! Anything over medium just ruins a good steak IMO. :)

Or you can brush the thing with olive oil, throw on some fresh chopped garlic, sea salt (just a small amount) and some fresh ground pepper.

It will always turn out nice that way

put some olive oil, garlic, thyme and rosemary in a small bowl and mix it up. coat one side of the porterhouse in the mixture very well and put that side face down in a hot pan. cook for 2-3 minutes (depending on thickness) ans while its cooking coat the other side in the mixture. Flip and cook the other side. Just make sure you dont get a puddle going because that makes the steak cook differently.

that tastes good :thumbsup

Marinade the steaks in oyster sauce. Sounds gross but its fuckin deadly.

FiReC 03-06-2004 08:33 PM

little olive oil, salt, pepper, tablespoon of soy sauce, fresh garlic ... BAM - you gotta steak

Morgan 03-06-2004 08:39 PM

the ultimate steak marinade is very simple...

salt, pepper, mustard, terriyaki sauce (soy vey preferably).

also....

if you like a more mild flavor... try just:

salt, pepper, crushed garlic, worstecherer (sp).

Doesn't Ruths Chris sear the sides with butter or olive oil? However they do it, I would try to replicate that.

MattO 03-06-2004 08:56 PM

If you have a good cut of steak, you shouldn't have to do anything to it other than sear it and maybe throw some salt and fresh pepper on it.

Sure sounds good for Fillet Mignon but steaks all seem to taste the same .A little spice just enhances the flavour
