I'm going drug free

..until Phoenix convention :Graucho

I stopped smoking cigs about 2 years ago, I've already said my goodbyes to MaryJane some weeks ago, now I will try 3 agonizing weeks without any booze, coffee or anything else like that. This will be a record since high school, almost 20 years ago.

Can I do it? I will subsitute drinking with working out regularly at the Y and walking and stuff ( BradM you got to me man =) and my attempt at a healthier diet.

This probably means I will be a party animal in Phoenix in April, so consider yourselves warned. Of course I have 9 beers left for tonight :winkwink: so I apologize in advance.

Wish me luck

How long did it take you to realize that drugs were bringing you down?

Depends which ones you were talking about hehe, I didn't care too much about it during my twenties but once I hit 30 and appraised the situation, I realized I was overdoing things a bit. Part of it was self-medication and I find myself in a much better place mentally, financially and it's time to take a break, I drank ALOT of whiskey last year and I likely have an ulcer, that's tough to ignore..

Good luck man, it's not easy.

I wish you good luck Tib :) I know you can do it... I won't drop coffee, put some milk into it so it won't do harm to your stomach.

exspamr 03-12-2004 09:56 PM

i havent done any illegal drugs in over 5 years now... at times i miss them but they sidetrack you most of the time... ive had friends who were super motivated that could smoke mad weed then go study or work out while they were high... when i got high i got lazy and hungry and horny

Thanks, I'm already one week into it, I've been drinking green tea daily and work out mon/wed/friday so far so good, I feel even whackier without the drugs than I would normally :Graucho sometimes I feel like I can fly, it's very odd, I wouldn't have believed this if someone told me this when I was 20, but here I am at 34 and it's true.

I just hope I can last, that's another 2 weeks without even a beer..jeez

Good for you. It's nice to hear that you're making an effort to be a cleaner and better man.

it's a tough road ahead. I'm a person with lots of vices, and I'm not even thinking of quiting. I just control my intake, the key is moderation, right?

reynold 03-15-2004 11:49 PM

we're with you, bro.

buddyjuf 03-15-2004 11:51 PM
