How do you do a screencap?
 

OK I assumed that you have to take a picture of the screen to get that info frozen that you want, but after seeing that appears not to be the case could someone enlighten me as to how to do this?

ctrl+print screen will put the screen image on the clipboard. Then just paste it.

Hit '' Printscreen '' at the right, above the keys '' delete '' '' insert '' '' home '' '' end '' '' page up '' '' page down ''

Open Paint & Press Control+V

I tried that way , it did not work for me....:( it would not allow me to paste...

try just printscreen, or if that doesnt work, alt+printscreen

If you use photoshop, just open a new document, leave it blank, then switch to what you want to screen cap and hit "print screen". Then switch back to photoshop to your empty document and hit ctrl-v. Voila :)

This skill isn't taught in Webmaster 101, I think they teach it in Computer Pre School :1orglaugh

or painshop pro
or whatever image editing software you use. My guess is that you're trying to paste it into GFY or something, that won't work.
If all else fails, put your monitor face-down on your scanner :)

You're gonne have to paste it into some type of image-editor, yes.

If you don't see paint in
Start > Programs > Accessories
try
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\mspaint.exe

or use your PC's search to find mspaint.exe

just hit print screen, open PaintShopPro, edit, copy from clipboard
