juicy, hardly anyone votes - your vote does matter

Also, please think twice before voting for Nader. I know some idealists would like to "send a message" to washington, but he WILL be a spoiler in this election, no matter what twisted logic he uses to say otherwise.

I'm sure you have good intentions, and I know Kerry doesn't give a fuck about current politics so long as he breaks the 2 party system and the corporate stranglehold on the presidency, I know he sees BOTH parties as equally corrupt.

HOWEVER, he will NOT win. This is a fact. He WILL draw away critical votes from one side or the other, you do the math. This election will be as close or closer than the last one, and I personally am shitting my pants thinking about a second term Bush administration that is NOT worried about getting re-elected. It will be a field day for the removal of civil liberties, persecution of "obscenity" as defined by the religious right who will OWN the country.

I voted for the Green Party last time to help get them that golden 5 percent. No worries this time around.

Nader's running just so he can be heard, which isn't such a bad thing. The problem is that he's preaching to the choir; the mass media only cares about crowning one person the front-runner and another the opponent. People who want to hear what opinionated outsiders like Nader, Kucinich, Sharpton, Buchanan, Browne (and on and on) have to say are forced to seek it out themselves.

Journalists are all lazy bums... they had a professor in Creative Writing 101 who told them that good writing needs conflict. It's much easier to look for only two sides of a story than to accurately reflect a world of opinion.

And their editors are shills. Simple debates are easier to digest and make for better ratings.

Your kind of thinking will keep us stuck with the 2 party system.

Vote Green again to help them get their 5 percent.

Voting Nader this year does JACK SHIT for raging against any machines.

Exactly. Nader is actually DILLUTING the chances for a sustainable 3rd party.

I see his reasoning though, the real Green party isn't going to have a candidate or even decide if they are running one in time to get on the state ballots.

All signed up. :thumbsup

Votes would mean more if we went by popular vote and not these stupid electoral colleges.

69pornlinks 03-05-2004 01:15 PM

this is true, Sharpton in 2004 :winkwink:

That's just an excuse to warm-n-fuzzify the Greens. Nader's looking forward to grabbing as much C-SPAN time as possible. If he waited for the Greens to convene he'd get less camera action. I'm not saying this is bad at all. I think it's good to see Nader on the teevee.

BUT, in my fantasy world, Kucinich will jump in and grab the Green nomination and take all the left-leaning Democrats with him.

(Isn't it funny how these-a-days you need to be specific about which way a Democrat leans?)

agreed, that is some bullshit right there

spentrent 03-05-2004 01:27 PM

The Electoral College is the last fucking thing we need to worry about this year.

KMR Stitch 03-05-2004 01:29 PM

This will be my First year Voting.

Make sure you do.

I will constantly be reminding people to go vote.

That and my vote is the least I can do... I have even thought of getting my own stickers made and going plaster them around Hollywood to get people to vote.

:thumbsup

you make no sense... on top of that I WOULDNT VOTE FOR KERRY OR BUSH anyway so how do you figure my vote for nader is wasted... its a protest vote, it might not have much impact, but i couldnt in good conscience vote for either of those fucks and if you think kerry is a lot better than bush you are sadly mistaken
