If it ain't broke...Don't fix it.

Why use a PayPal type of system? Why not get your own merchant account or go through a 3rd party biller like CCBill or iBill?

I never understood why people use PayPal for business. Can someone explain to me why they use a PayPal type of system over a 3rd party biller or your own merchant account?

Thanks, I have seen your threads on here and I have the impression you know what your talking about but I thought it would be a good idea to get other options and research them.
Thanks:)

I'm totally serious. I don't see the benefit of using a PayPal system over your own merchant account or a 3rd party biller. I'd like to hear the explination of why a PayPal type of system is better.

I don't have a clue what I am talking about...Just like 95% of the rest of GFY. Not the best place to come for questions like this. These sheep are all running scared of their own shadows.

I have my own merchant account. I still use PayPal for other transactions.

Yesterday I sent Kayla $100.00 through PayPal.

I am not going to waste my time explaining this to you.

There is no substitute that has as much members as PayPal, I mean they're over 50 million right now so getting a system that is so widely accepted is very hard...

I use ePassporte too and it is good, but PayPal still is #1 when it comes to money transfers... epass is like 10% of what I get in from PP

there will be no alternative till a lot of ppl drop PP

Dude, I'm going to eat right now but open your eyes. Paypal is 1000 times better than a silly merchant account.

I can see using PayPal for personal transactions. Just not for business. I can see using PalPal along with your own merchant account or 3rd party biller. I just don't get why some businesses only have PayPal as their form of payment.

You can waste your time posting junk on GFY but not any useful info:1orglaugh

I want to hear your reasons why when you get back from eating. I'd actually like to hear anybodies reason why right now. So far 2 responses but no reason why.

Correct. GFY is here for my enjoyment...Not for me to educate people.....Unless I so choose.

BTW....Who ever said that Gramps is using PayPal for business in the first place?

I didn't say Gramps was using PayPal for business. So it wasn't me:) I was just asking a question since I do see some businesses use PayPal as their only form of payment.

One thing I noticed about you AaronM in this thread. Your honest:thumbsup

Fair enough.....I am still not going to get into it though. It would turn into a lond debate and I don't have time to get into it today. Perhaps somebody else will come along and give you their input.
