Cool! Get a 4 GB MicroDrive for $200! Usually $500 :)
Not sure if this has been posted before but Wired.com is running an article about digital camera owners buying the Nomad Muvo2 for $200, dismantling it, and using the 4GB MicroDrive (after formatting) in their digital cameras. Those drives normally run $500 according to the article.
I've got one on the way :thumbsup |
do you realise that the hard dirves run a lot slower than compact flash cards, it will increase the time between shots dramatically

I am sure the write/read speed isn't something ridiculous. |

the reason it that one is a hard drive and one is flash memory, the hard drive would never be able to keep up the same speed |
Slower?

Compare the speed difference between RAM and your hard drive. The difference between a microdrive and a compact flash is similar.
Writing to a microdrive is a mechanical operation and cannot be done as fast as writing to a memory card. |
- Compact Flash has a data transer rate of 8 MB a second.
- Compact Flash 2.0 has a data transfer rate of 16 MB a second. - Microdrive's data transfer rate varies from 4.2 MB a sec to 7.2 MB a sec. |
Flash memory better of course! More faster!
