Looking for investors

I am looking for one more investor for a killer Hollywood club i am involved with-

We are now looking into several locations around Hollywood Blvd by the El Capitan theatre.

without saying too much I have some Hollywood execs involved with the project and the club will be a spot where a lot of celebrities and hot chicks will be hanging out-

the capacity is 100-150, will be decorated in all Versace furniture ( got a great deal from one of the investors)

The venue will feature a kitchen with appetizer foods and pizza- and Karaoke with a celebrity will be held once a week- you ca have the opportunity to sing with Corey Feldman or Gary Coleman!

The place is perfect for movie wrap parties, record release parties ( venue will be near Capitol Records)

Porn parties and Oscar parties- if you know of anyone looking to get into the bar business as a partner with a nominal investment-

email [email protected] for more information

This place will be called the "Inner Circle" and it reminiscent of an old mafia hangout the partners and myself grew up going to in Cleveland, OH

Good luck with your project. Having said that I must add, I'd rather sell porn than be a washed up Hollywood actor reduced to hosting karaoke to get by. :1orglaugh

How Nominal?

I have $20k sitting in one account earmarked for investment and I've been sitting here wondering what I'm going to do with it.

On first glance at your post though I got the feeling you need more like $50k or $100K investors.

How much per "point"?

Actually looking for $25- 30, 000 on this endeavor

Alex From San Diego 03-04-2004 05:27 PM

Investing in something like that is a sure way to lose your money.

I have seen it to many times. I have been approached many times but always pass no matter how good it looks on paper.

Clubs are fads.....6 mos - 12 mos and poof they are usually gone.

I own a bar here in San Diego and what looks cool to an outsider is pure hell to me. Everyone one wants a cut. If it isn't the barterdenders skimming, it is some jackle in the back shoving shit up his nose.

Wait until you see what the premiums are for liability insurance.

Yah, you will make more money with a titty bar in a medium size city than a fancy club in a big city.

Nicky 03-04-2004 05:32 PM

would be very cool, but right now i dont have that kind of money loose, and im in Sweden so you can figure out the rest :)

OK money bags....LOL

Your 30k will be about 2 points if you are lucky for that area.

Do you have any experience in the bar business? Do you know what it takes to turn a profit?

It will take you a minimum of 7 years just to get your original investment back and that is if everything goes smoothly.

If 30k isn't much to you, I have something for you that will give you a minimum of 12 times your return on your money within 18 months.

I already have 4x my initial investment since December.

KRL 03-04-2004 05:40 PM

You're opening a celebrity hangout club and the capital you are looking for is $30K?

Something is missing in the equation. How much has been raised so far and with how many investors?

95% of the time clubs last 1 - 2 years tops. Plus clubs have lots of physical "cash" a good chunk of which goes out the door at the end of the night and not on the books.

Mr. Marks 03-04-2004 05:43 PM

Good luck.

Great points KRL I already have $150, 000 raised from other parties- I am looking for two more partners preferably to round out the remaining $50,000 or so we need in start up capital-

With the people behind this club I can guarantee it won't be a fad but rather a place that is constantly booked for private parties and small engagements from the industry.

I am looking for people who understand this business- I have been in the bar business before back in Cleveland an it was a cash cow-

My partner is the man I worked for back in Cleveland- and he was always successful- i have total faith.

SetTheWorldonFire 03-04-2004 06:02 PM

Good luck with it and I hope I get an invite for the opening :thumbsup

Cleveland aint Hollywood man.

Its not a business you just "toy" around in, I see clubs change their name every couple months here.

Clubs always can make a great deal of $ if you have the right idea, and know about the club scene. Best of luck with your ventures with it.

$200k startup capital for a high end club in LA?

KRL 03-04-2004 09:44 PM

If you have a way to open a high end A List level celeb club that's the long term kind for $200k in LA, I am intrigued now to see your biz plan. That would be an amazing achievment.

alex from san diego

on your 7 year club thing
id love to talk to you about it

i will never invest in a club or bar for income, but for fun
at some point iwill be putting my name on a club

anyhow, ive always been intrigued nonetheless about clubs

here in minneapolis a club was openeded called "escape ultra lounge" and its huge

Randy moss from the vikings, etc all the celebrities (the ones we have) go to the vip room there

anyways i swear theyve made their investment back in the first 6 months

they must take in 200k a night on weekends

Mike AI 03-04-2004 10:50 PM

KB you should set up a up a beg-o-thon and get people to paypal you the money for the club!

$200,000 for a club in LA doesn't sound right. I've seen small bars in the out skirts of Seattle go from $300,000 to $500,000. I would imagine a club being alot more than that.

DatingGold 03-05-2004 12:34 AM

I wish you luck..

If you want success leave out the karaoke and definitely change the name.

you wanna know what is going to happen with this ?

go get the movie " Empire " and you will see what is going on guys ... come on think about this

Your bro ran a club in FUCKING OHIO

how can you compare that to runnin some shit in LA ?

Did you see Alex's post ? You really want coked up celebs in your siht ?

I think you have a better chance of turnin a profit with a gumball machine outside of a fucking denist office or some shit

Good luck though

Let us know when it is launched

KB, I agree with Mike. You are a natural for a club.

However, the remarks from Brad Shaw and others about
your credibility are ringing in my ears. You have held
a lot of positions during the last few years.

If I had your reputation, I would want to come up with
a financial profile showing exactly what you have
accomplished in the last five years, and personal references
to prove just how successful those ventures have been.

You are very entertaining and ambitious, but I don't
think you are a good one to take care of money details.

Good luck!:thumbsup

I don't need any money from any of you anymore- I thank you all for your skepticism and negativity-

However we have raised all the capital we needed this week.

I didn't share the business plan with any of you, you all have NO IDEA how successful the bars I used to run in Cleveland and Columbus were and that's fine-

There is a lot about me and my personal life, that none of you have to know either-

Just know that making comments about my handling of money, and business plans that may make no sense to any of you- have worked out just fine for me....and will continue to do so- I have points in this bar and I am happy to be a part of it-

When it opens- those of you who wished me well will be the first ones I buy drinks for-

People like Mike AIl will have to "BEG" to get in the door

:BangBang:

How's that for a BEGOTHON?

Grim thanks for your input- I appreciate the compliment- ya know while I am at it do you think I should break down how much money I have made for people and myself over the years in my various businesses? Or just break it down as it pertains to the adult web?

I am perplexed- If I did break it down to all of you, I think you'd all have a better understanding of what I do, and what I have done to make money over the years.

However those of you who know me and are lucky enough to be called my "friends" already know what I do-

Just like Brad Shaw says " I don't come here looking to make friends, I come here to make money"

That's the only thing I will ever agree with Brad Shaw on........

MicroChick 03-07-2004 03:24 PM

KB, you can't be great at everything.

You do quite well with radio, PR, bedding
the pornstars, throwing parties, giving
webmasters a Players Ball.

When it comes to investing and gathering
money for your new deals, I think you would
be better off giving that job to someone else.

It's not a slam against you. It's just my
observation.

I can see you on the stage of your club
welcoming everyone. :)

KB we have had this conversation more then once. People who take everything said on the boards as truth have some serious issues to begin with.

If people have so much time to read and follow all the gossip on the boards I find it hard that they are really making money themself. As we all know the people who make the real money don't really stay in the public eye.

If people need it to be justfied how some of us make our money then they have not done the research and will never get it. Most people hate on others for the reason of jealousy, nothing more nothing less.
