According to VeriSign, the resale market for domain names has more than doubled in recent months from previous years. A typical resale price for a domain is ringing in at around $24,000, whereas a collection of popular domains recently sold for as much as $100,000 each.

Anything is worth whatever someone will pay for it.. it's an investment for a lot of people.. may not pay itself off over a year or so.. but many people think beyond 10 or even 20 years in business.

quite amazing, i see so many domains being sold for rediculous prices, but someone must be buying them

it's about time.

I haven't seen much of a jump in the public eye, but maybe the public is starting to realize that the internet isn't going away, and that there are only so many .com's available that'd be decent brands.

Personally I don't think even good type-in domain name like business.com could generate enough money just to recover those $7M which were spent to buy it.

I just have a healthy set of balls. That was a very risky acquisition. I looked at the market and saw the only way to get the 7 fig spark going strong again, it needed someone to step up and give it a good kick in the butt for some much needed worlwide media attention.
