B will run at least $69.... why not spend $10 bucks more and get the stability and speed of G.

B is old technology.

Nice! :thumbsup

plus, G is backward compatible with B, so if you got older systems running B already, you're covered.

ditto.

Amputate Your Head 03-04-2004 12:24 PM

one thing I've noticed though is the frequency is messing with one of my LCD screens.... others are fine, but one is kinda wavy... and it's driving me nuts.

Amputate Your Head 03-04-2004 12:29 PM

maybe changing the broadcast channel might clear it up.... not sure....

Strife 03-04-2004 12:29 PM

D-Link is also a good choice

Netgear is the best wireless in my opinion.

The 108 Mbps is amazing. The laptop speed now is flying.

yeah... that's just the router. Unless your mainboard has the WiFi built in, you'll need the cards too.

Hehe I guess I will have to take out my ASUS manual I am new to wireless.

I have spent countless years with a crimper and my rj-45's

Netgear 802.11g.
There is nothing better. I went thru 3 different linksys routers with their boosters and their range sucked compared to this!

how much range are you using? I can go all over the house with my Linksys....

Sharky 03-04-2004 07:34 PM

My home office is on one side of the house and my bedroom is on the other (kitchen in the middle). 12% signal in my bedroom with the linksys AND booster... and an 89% signal with the netgear, without a booster.

nothing changed in the house

Amputate Your Head 03-04-2004 08:51 PM

definately.... set up the WEP pre-shared key to lock down your WiFi, and disable the SSID broadcast and you should be fine...
