Do you like your job?

We all know this can be a pretty grueling industry and it's a LOT of hard work..... but at the end of the day when you lay down to sleep, go out or do whatever it is you do away from the industry, do you enjoy what you do or has it become just another job and the way you pay your bills?

I personally love what I do... from every angle, I love it. I work more than I don't, but it hasn't become a "job" yet after 5 years, I STILL love what I do and I look forward to the new changes and events of everyday things. I could go get a job job somewhere else, but not one that I enjoy doing as much as I enjoy doing this.

How do YOU feel about what you do? Is it a job or is it also something you enjoy doing?

LasseKongos 03-03-2004 03:40 PM

I love:

- my work.
- the people I work with.
- the cash I earn.
- my life

It could always be worse....

When you have an "I Hate My Job" day, try this.

On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson. Be very sure you get this brand.

When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and lie down on your bed. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it
>on the bedside table so that it will not become chipped or broken. Take out the literature and read it carefully.

You will notice that in small print there is a statement, "Every rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson is personally tested".

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times: "I am so glad I do not work for quality control at Johnson and Johnson."

HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS WORSE THAN YOURS!

I love my job. I don't have to mingle with other people (unless I'm at a show, which is cool, because I can come home and be a hermit again afterward), I can write whatever my perverted little mind can come up with and get paid for doing it, and I don't have a boss to answer to unless I decide I want to take a salaried position!! w00t!

wow...... thanks babe, I guess I missed that post in this thread....... always looking out for me huh? :1orglaugh

Face, I USED to WORK FOR them, I never owned it.... made that clear from the get-go...... I own my OWN program now and don't work for anyone....... but myself that is. :)

You can control a lot of things, but you can't control the owners of a company, only thing you can do is put up with it or get out, I chose to get out. :thumbsup

Styves 03-24-2004 09:54 AM

I think that the working environment is quite important in the balance to answer the question Do I Love my Job...I had been an analyst programer for 4 years in a crapy environment (lots of stress/stupid protocols and hierarcgy, etc). I love coding but I was unhappy because of the office. That's why I said goodbye boss and now I'm workin on my own, and SUCH HAPPY with my job !!! Obviously, I don't only code now, doin audio/video/web and coding stuff. Just starting in adult area...

That makes perfect sense..... I STILL do what I have done for 5 years, I just do it for myself now and don't have a "boss" to answer to, which makes ME happy as hell and I work much more productively because I know what I want to do and where and have no one telling me that I can or cannot do this or that...... I am in control, and being the control freak that I am, I love it like this. :)

avion 03-24-2004 10:13 AM

I love this game...

beemk 03-24-2004 10:14 AM
