JensMoviePost 03-02-2004 07:36 PM

Beats me. I have 2 computers setup in different rooms - but can't figure out why 1 computer is setup with several moniters around it.

Hubby just started using dual monitors for work and loves it. He had so many windows open, and finds he does a lot less clicking and he can keep things organized better.

He also likes different monitors for different purposes, graphics, gaming etc.

I used to work with 2 monitors. Mainly to have outlook express open all the time and for photoshop.

I've been using dual monitors for quite some time now and I absolutely love it for work. Nothing gets more confusing then trying to alt-tab through things when you're constantly changing the order from minimizing. Instead I just click over with the mouse to what I want to use and leave them all open. Plus, I use a KVM (Switch for multiple computers) on my system, and I leave my ICQ windows open on monitor 2 which doesn't change, so I can keep track of people who are talking to me without being active on that computer.

ask yourself this - do you work with several windows open ? if so why not have them all active on a screen.

i use three

true ,

What do i need to make this happen? A special video card or any special type of equipment besides the other monitor off course

Ash@phpFX 03-02-2004 07:44 PM

id love to have dual monitors, i think it would be great to work on.
the best use i have seen of them is in a recording studio, they had all the contols they needed spread out over the two monitors. Also as an engineering student i know they are used a lot for engineering design, one monitor can be a bit small at times

That is the first time I read a Sleazy post and felt like saying: What he said.

I have 2 eyes, 2 hands, and 2 monitors, can't imagine any other setup.

SoundMan 03-02-2004 08:09 PM

i used to use one pc just for mail-icq and work on teh other one.

Verbal 03-02-2004 08:10 PM

I can't work without 2 monitors anymore ... If only for Photoshop. Got your work area on one monitor and the 1001 palettes on the other.

fuzebox 03-02-2004 08:16 PM

Can't work with just one anymore either, been dualheading for 5 years.

I have 3-4 browser windows open, each with a bunch of tabs in them, plus 8-10 terminal windows, email, mp3 player, icq windows, etc...

Spread across 3 virtual workspaces too :)

integrated 03-02-2004 08:18 PM
