Freddy VS Jason DVD

Picked it up last night. Was better than I expected.

What did you think?

okny 03-02-2004 12:26 PM

Never watched it but heard it was pretty stupid.

uvort 03-02-2004 12:27 PM

i watched it but it was after i got back from a party so i dont remember much of it...what i do remember tho is it was pretty good :glugglug :glugglug

cosis 03-02-2004 12:27 PM

i saw it on saturday on on-demand TV, probably the worst fucking movie I have ever seen, I wish I could get those 2 hours of my life back

I mean Kelly Roland??? come on

zzgundamnzz 03-02-2004 12:27 PM

It was good, seeing Freddy stab out Jason's eyes with the claws was classic. So was the trade mark punch through the body Jason did to almost finish him off.

Martin 03-02-2004 12:29 PM

I liked it. I've always been into the Freddy and Jason movies.

LA Mike 03-02-2004 12:30 PM

I bought it just as a collector thing. But have been putting off watching it thinking it would be dumb. I like the old original movies though.. Think I'll check it tonight

Grammar Police 03-02-2004 12:31 PM

People who watch every movie expecting it to be worthy of an Oscar nomination should be shot. I went to see the movie expecting it to be sort of...shitty. To my surprise, it was actually very entertaining. Lots better than I expected. I think I will go get the DVD today too.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 03-02-2004 12:31 PM

its on pay per view right now.. might have to watch it. I havent watched any of them since the first ones.

If you like the orginals you will hate this movie

I was expecting bad acting, but the kids in this movie were just awful

Fletch XXX 03-02-2004 12:34 PM

horror isnt for everyone.

I liked it.

probably too much "back story" for most of you to even catch.

It was worth buying at least.

i got the one with all the deleted scenes and original beginningn and ending, like 30+ more mins of footage, good shit.

that was a very disappointing moment.

I agree, but some of the angles and back story in this was very good. shes cute, but that part really was lame, until she turned around and then boom, back to cool cheesy horror x men style.

I like the Batman stlye directing of Ronnie VU and although it doesnt have the 80s charm or cheesiness, it carries the modern "House ON Haunted Hill" momentum.

Nothing will top the originals but come on, I own the Nightmare on Elm box, you think all 7 Freddies are good acting?

Bela Lugosi was good horror acting, you cant expect these Clinique models to act good when all they really gotta do is swim naked, run through the woods, trip and get stabbed with a machete.

:1orglaugh

Thor 03-02-2004 12:42 PM

I was very dissapointed when I saw it, they are just trying to make a few extra bucks on their names

cosis 03-02-2004 12:44 PM

the last halloween movie was actually pretty good except when fucking busta rhymes started with his kung fu shit on Michael Meyers, that was stupid again

Sosa 03-02-2004 12:49 PM

I thought it was pretty stupid

phpslave 03-02-2004 01:30 PM

It was a pretty good flick, much better than I expected. My son loved it, until it was time for bed. Had to turn the light on for him.

TweetyBird 03-02-2004 01:32 PM

hehe :)

CyberTraffic 03-02-2004 01:39 PM

I saw it in the theatres twice. I loved that movie.

Paid perfect homage to the classics.

Right in the opening scene, tits bouncing out, dark night, spooky shit, right then I knew this was gonna be good fun.

And the corny pinball scene? That was a great play on Freddy's trademark humor.

"That goalie was pissed!"

valley hina 03-02-2004 02:14 PM

that movie is good

AlbertSweet 03-02-2004 02:54 PM

Was good old school horror, favorite freddy line....."Mmmm time for some dark meat" LOL

MetaMan 03-02-2004 02:56 PM

Perfect - you didn't miss anything. Basically they got progressively worse until this movie came out. Watch it, it's pretty cool.

:thumbsup

Of course, you mean you watched if AFTER you banged some broad you brought home from the party..

That is what you meant right?

WankTank 03-02-2004 04:33 PM

i really didn't like it.

evildick 03-02-2004 08:28 PM

I seen it in the theater and bought the DVD when it came out.
I thought it was one of the best out of both series of movies.

I can't wait to see the Dawn of the Dead remake coming out this month. No chance of being as good as the original, but hopefully it's still entertaining.

- Jesus Christ - 03-02-2004 08:29 PM

it was horrible and not scary in the least. :2 cents:

Give me ANY of the first 3 halloween movies.

$5 submissions 03-02-2004 08:35 PM

The movie is good but I don't think I'll watch it again.

Kevin Bacon wasn't in the original Nightmare on Elm St
You thinking of Johnny Depp?

edit:
doh. nm. just realised you were referring to F13th.

:2 cents:

I liked F. vs J.
And everybody needs to stop complaining about how it's not scary.
It's not supposed to be. It's a monster movie. Godzilla isn't scary either.

In 'scary' movies you are on the side of the victims.
In 'monster' movies you are on the side of the monster.
(rarely, good horror can have both, like Jeepers Creepers 1)
In these movies, people cheer for Freddy/Jason.
The kids are just props.

MiLo 03-02-2004 09:48 PM

Worst movie ever.

Best horror movie: Urban Legend

Fletch listens to Radiohead.

(lets see if someone gets this)

Amputate Your Head 03-02-2004 09:53 PM

thought it sucked immensely. The freddy/Jason crap is so played.

Final Destination 1 & 2 were both way better.

yeah, I meant Friday the 13th.

Most people dont even know Kevin Bacon is in it hahaha

http://imdb.com/title/tt0080761/

As for whats what, there wouldnt be a Friday the 13th if it wasnt for Mario Bavas, Bay Of Blood (aka Twitch Of The Dead Nerve)

Jeepers Creepers is okay, I have the dvd.

But it wasnt scary.

i watch movies to cheer for the killer, and to see tits.

Geez, thats why SLumber Party Massacre is one of my faves hahah

:glugglug

Vitasoy 03-02-2004 09:57 PM

I thought is was below average, it was only good near the end where they finally fought.

Halloween 3 didn't even have Michael Myers. It has the old guy from Robocop and there were killer robots... wonder how they ever got the Halloween Franchise :ugone2far

Ironhorse 03-02-2004 10:19 PM

No way I'm wasting even $2 on that, I laughed out loud for a few minutes when I saw the commercial :1orglaugh I'm laughing again

What's next Freddy and Jason tagteam Ronald McDonald and stave off the invasion of the Care Bears?

pradaboy 03-02-2004 10:29 PM

never bothered to watch it, might pick it up tonight

SykkBoy 03-02-2004 10:31 PM

One of my favorites of last year...had all the great 80's horror movie ingredients, some inventive deaths and didn't take itself too seriously (and TONS of inside references that casual fans will never get).

Fletch, good call on Bava's classic "Bay Of Blood", but let's also not forget "Dementia 13" (I just picked it up at Best Buy for $5) which featured some fun axe play ;-)

runaway 03-03-2004 07:40 AM

SUCKS

Firehorse 03-03-2004 07:43 AM

My Brother-in-law is a fan of all things Freddy and Jason, I may borrow it from him.

mardigras 03-03-2004 08:51 AM

I thought the first 2 Phantasm movies were pretty cool.
