Hitting a parked car

You're in a parking lot. You back out of your parking space and Accidentally hit another parked car. There is no damage to your car but you did do some damage to the car you hit. Noone sees what you've done. Do you

(1) drive off, or
(2) leave your name and contact info on the car?

This happened to me recently and I opted for (2). I have to admit, I was tempted to drive off, but I wouldn't have been able to look myself in the mirror if I had. I know I'd be real pissed if someone ran off on me (and that HAS happened to me in the past). The bottom line is -- I was responsible for the damage to the other car. What would you have done?

I witnessed a hit and run
I waited for 10 mins for an old couple to come out from the church and wonder WTF a massive teenager was doing beside their mercedes
but I was their best friend when I told them what happened

IPK 03-02-2004 12:53 AM

leave a note

my car has been hit while parked before. and no one ever left a note. fucking bitches.

DreamCumTrue 03-02-2004 12:55 AM

I saw someone hit a parked car while pulling out of a parking space. Front wards. They sat there in shock for a minute, there was no apparent damage and they just drove away.

Had there been no damage, I probably would have driven off as well. But there was noticable damage to the parked car in my case. I couldn't drive away from that. Oh well, so much for my strip club money this month. :)

Thats a good question, now I don;y know what I'll do, thats strange isnt it

pimplink 03-02-2004 01:05 AM

I think I'll have to leave my name and info on the car. I'm the one responsible for the wreck and I think I have to show him that I am a responsible citizen.

=^..^= 03-02-2004 01:11 AM

for some reason I cant believe Im reading this at GFY
you are all so fucking honest!
what happened around here? It's march 1st right? not April 1??

Someone backed into our Merc a couple of weeks ago
Dont know how the fuck she did it she had 10 feet between us.
Fortunately FH was in the car (tying his shoe laces - she didn't realise he was there) and he stopped her and made that bitch leave her contact details

so because that happened I would now say - I would leave my details

tho if you'd asked me BEFORE that incident happened
I would have said:

I'd leave contact details......
pretending to be someone I really disliked and make THEM pay
:Graucho

gun it, dont look back

Living For Today 03-02-2004 01:34 AM

It would depend how much damage there was. If it was just a little scratch I probably couldnt be fucked. If any more damage I would leave a note.

Option 2 is the right one, but you cant know what you'll do in that situation until it happens

JayJay 03-02-2004 01:41 AM

drive off a be totally pissed that the guy left his car in the way

born4porn 03-02-2004 01:49 AM

It depends on the damage, if it was noticable I would leave a note.

Trixie Racer 03-02-2004 01:58 AM

As embarrassing as this is to admit, I've hit a parked car. I owned up to it and my insurance took care of everything for me after the initial phone call.

hoe_vender 03-02-2004 02:06 AM

you get the fuck out of there as soon as you can
