NASA to Announce 'Significant Findings' of Water on Mars Tuesday

NASA will hold a press conference Tuesday to announce "significant findings" about water on Mars based on evidence from its Opportunity Mars rover.

"It's going to be the most significant science results that we've had from the rovers, and it's bearing on their primary mission," NASA spokesperson Don Savage told SPACE.com . That mission is to find signs of water that might support life.

Fuck all this NASA bullshit... significant my ASS.

WHERE IS MY FLYING JETSONS CAR?

DreamCumTrue 03-02-2004 01:17 AM

Nooo...I don't want to know if there are aliens. I watched a show on the History channel about it, and the scientists think that aliens exist but they are just waiting around watching us because we are a "potential threat" to them.

This is probably BS to justify all the money spent on past missions and to keep going back.

What I don't understand is why they dug down a very short distance to check underground for signs of water from millions of years ago. Doesn't Mars have huge dust storms that would have been throwing dirt around that entire time? So underground really isn't underground as they'd have us believe.

I think they were examining rocks for minerals that show signs of water or something like that. I dont think they've done much digging.

hershie 03-02-2004 01:28 AM

It blows me away that we, in fact could be desendents of Martians who moved here to earth after their atmosphere deteriortated or whatever made them decide to give up on Mars at the time.

VeriSexy 03-02-2004 01:30 AM

I want them to start to dig at least 50 feet down. Too bad that machine will never do it :(

Yeah, we definitely could be the Martians - or a hybrid. More likely, our life started when bacterium ladened meteorites from Mars landed in our primordial ooze.
