Instant Messengers charging
Why do i see AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo! Messenger charging for their service sometime soon??
If they charged more than a $1 a month, i wouldnt pay. :2 cents: |
there will alwasy be a free one
|
i know, fuck them i would never pay
but then i wouldn't be able to talk to anyone on my list oh well fuck them too! they would probably have to give advance notice. because if they spring that shit on you, no one would know what messenger service to use next |

No way I'd pay for using a IM, there will always be an alternative.
|
Considering 95% of IM users are too young for credit cards, I can't see that happening any time soon.
|
Knowing AOL they'll probably start charging $7.95 a month for AIM but they'll add some useless features to justify the price.
Then again there will always be a free messenger out there. If not we'll be emailing each other in real time :1orglaugh |

I would pay $10.00 a month to weed out the unwanted
|

im logged into ICQ RIGHT NOW and i didn't have to pay a thing
why pay when you can access it for free? |

I can get that for free. I use messenger for only biz now |
trillian pro i believe costs money. i dont think any of the msnger services will start charging. maybe add premium services like hotmail has but its unlikely.
|
Jabber has a better protocol, but no penetration outside of "what people use at work."
|
IM'ing will always be free. They may charge you for software, they may charge you for anything extra above text IM, but I think IM as it is today will be free.
|
AOL is ripoff
|
email is so powerful at times.

I'm not gonna pay for using IM. There's always an alternative solution to that. and there's always a free one.
