I got married at 20, I was pressured NOT to get married :Graucho

I wanted whatever kids I have to be old enough to take care of me by the time I hit 60.

damn near every day from the girlfriend. We live together and have been bf/gf for 6 years

FUCK NO!... ill never get married, theres no reason to since i dont want kids, thats the only reason i could see someone using to get married... ive seen too much to get suckered into that trap... so many people i know were like oh man my fiance is so cool, shell never bust my balls about stuff and boss me around like most wifes... then they get married and everything changes... girls know how to play a good game... its almost like false advertising... like my cousin, he thought he was marrying this cool chick who never gave him any bs about anything he did or how he spent his money... i can remember seeing her change drasticly after they took their vows the night of the wedding, she had a sinister look in her eyes and she became a lot more demanding and nitpicky

from myself, no pressure, when i get to a situation that really makes me think.. " my partner and i would be a lot better off now if we were married ( rather than being in a defacto relationship)" i'd perhaps feel more inclined. Do i feel pressure from the greater family? i do, somewhat, they are from another era and believe it's the right thing to do and there is no real alternative. ( living in sin, etc)

you get pressure from all sides. all my friends are getting married. it sucks! the clock is ticking and i'm running out of time.

Im afraid that I ever get married I'll end up like Al Bundy... watch an episode of Married with Children and the pressure just melts away :)
