welcome to the rest of the world. Sadly, sms text spam is all to common over here now. I won't give my phone number out to any companies just because of it.

mardigras 03-01-2004 06:29 PM

How do you think they give away all of that free long distance?:glugglug

MuleScrote 03-01-2004 06:31 PM

Yeah, well it must be sprint related because I have given my cell # to only one company. But my wife got the same message at the same time and NOBODY has her number but close friends and family.

washiez 03-01-2004 06:33 PM

and the cell phone company?

DreamCumTrue 03-01-2004 08:19 PM

I used to get that BS all the time with AT&T. T-Mobile is much better, no spam.

that's exactly my point....

sprint might have sold us out, they are the only single company that has both of our numbers.

Yeah, I know for a fact that phone companies all over the world are selling cell numbers. As I said, I am very protective of my number. I never fill it out on any forms because I know that is only going to lead to spams and annoying people calling me. So, I never get the spams. My husband and his daughter get tons because they put their numbers down on forms.

Then, that changed because I went to France ..lol. What you all won't know unless you have done it is that when you go on the Ferry from the UK to France (something people do often because it is a short trip and you can get cheap booze) you lose your British network halfway across the channel. Then as you get closer to France your phone searches for a French network. In the last couple years the French company has started sending a welcoming message straight out of the air. 'Hello and welcome to whatever network'. The week after I got that for the first time I got my first spam. I don't see that as an accident.

welcome to the new world of spam - its happening like crazy in japan now
