Do you have a strategy? What is it?

Just curious how many people here have a conscious and intended strategy for their business. So, do you have a strategy, or do you just go with the flow?

bluff 03-01-2004 12:00 PM

Yes, I'm not telling you though

puresexnow 03-01-2004 12:04 PM

In an ideal business enviromnent, this would hold true. Here, I seriously doubt it. 75% of the people here wouldn't know a sense of business if it came crashing into them, riding a Harley.

Planned out trial and error. Keep updating the things that don't work and don't screw with the things that do. Learn to utilize any positives and blow them up without ruining a good thing.

Hmmm, I wouldn't really classify that as a strategy... Let's face it, if you kept trying and didn't keep doing what turns out OK and only kept trying out what turns into shit, that would make you look very stupid... So to me it's more of a go with the flow, play with stuff that may bite, but stop playing with it if it bites... Basic survival, nothing more. Not a strategy.

A man who believes in creating his own luck, I like that. :)

hoe_vender 03-01-2004 01:12 PM

not really just go with the flow

MetaMan 03-01-2004 01:13 PM

i have a plan for the future on what i need to accomplish, but timing changes from week to week because i have no need to have anything set in stone.

later this year i will stick to a more tedious schedule as i may go public.

zzgundamnzz 03-01-2004 01:16 PM

Working very a solid plan:
However - elements to our long term strategies can, and often do, change on a daily basis (If a new idea pops up - we take time out to figure its worth etc).

IPK 03-01-2004 01:35 PM

That's the difference and/or synergy between intended and emergent strategy. I bet you also drop a lot of things, in favour for others. Happens all the time.

That's an objective. What is your strategy, that will help you reach your objective?

Haven't outlined one yet, since I'm still not in this full time. But I'm working on setting up a strategy for myself and for my future endeavours, since I want to get involved with this more seriously.

I've never depended on money from the adult, but I see so much lack of direction and long-term planning, that it looks to me like someone fairly skilled can still make a killing. I've spent the last few years making good lunch money and learning lots about the biz. It's about time for me to start reaping benefits soon. :winkwink:

I've never seen a good profitable strategy shared on a message board

Mr. Marks 03-01-2004 06:40 PM

Others have a good strategy to make a business work but all I can say is love your work, learn new things from it, maybe you can apply that new knowledge in the future.

Herb Kornfield 03-01-2004 07:03 PM

I have a daily strategy / weekly / monthly.

from there, we meet weekly to chart progress and then plan the next week.

Also, we see how the last week has impacted the next moves and so on.

Its a lot of work and coordination, however, it is profitable in the end if you are dedicated

twistyneck 03-01-2004 07:15 PM

I just wait until Epic Cash does something and then I copy it.
