the problem with that is, most p2p programs download sections of a file from more than once source, so if that happens, who is to say they will download the part with your link code in it

It's a 140 mb file ... downloaded from ONE place .. the place where the file is stored. The file is stored WITH your account ID for tracking.

So forgive me for my ignorance but ... WTF are you talking about?

if the user goes offline and has to resume the file from another user sharing the same file that might have another persons affiliate id hardcoded..

but doesnt seem like it would be too big of an issue..

how big is the file(s)? 140mb sounds large, are there shorter clips?

It's all a numbers game though and the P2P's have HUGE numbers so It should be all good for webmasters that play the P2P game in most cases!

P2P clients only do that when the files are exactly the same, I think.
