Do i need glasses?

The last month or two, when I sit back about 4 feet from my monitor, some words ebcome blurry and I need to strain to see the words. This hasen't happened before.....Do I need glasses? :(

Go get your eye balls checked!

IPK 02-28-2004 07:30 PM

Maybe you just need to spend more time away from your computer.

Dveron 02-28-2004 07:32 PM

Could be just eyestrain. Depends if your eyesight readjusts after you've spent a bit of time away from the computer or if it's still blurry when you're watching tv or driving etc.

Definately get your eyes checked, also take a break at least every two hours (look around the room and let your eyes focus on something else) also make sure you have adequate lighting where you are working.

I have glasses for reading and using the computer and it does make things a lot more pleasant, especially if you like to use small font sizes and you spend many hours a day looking at the screen. You might also want to try doing some eye exercises, both for eyestrain and because I've found that my eye muscles get lazy because of the limited movement during the day (just back and forth across the screen).

myjah 02-28-2004 07:47 PM

Suggest an Ophthalmologist over an Optometrist, but you need to see one. Assuming it?s not drugs.

The sooner the better, just get it out of the way and behind you, so you don't have to worry about it. You may have to shop around though. I scratched my eyeball and needed to see an Ophthalmologist about it, damn hard to get an appontment right away, even with a real problem. The typical ER room doesn't have the equipment to deal with anissue like that.

Good luck, maybe just eye drops or glasses???

pornkitten 02-29-2004 03:48 AM

your eyesight is going from siting in front of the monitor
