Of the heavy weights no one could touch Mike during his prime. Now its a different story, but you spend a few years and jail and see if you come out a-ok.
Really a shame that he went through that shit. |
Har to say, my vote goes for Tyson though :)
but Ali wasnt bad, hehe, watched a documentary on him a few days ago quite interesting...... |
Iron Mike with his ear-chewing habits:thumbsup
:1orglaugh |
Hey in his prime mike was a bad motherfucker man thats all i know.
|
Sugar Ray Lenoard
Tyson Ali Forman in that order |

George Foreman's grill is awesome BTW....had to throw that in there |

Tyson was the best ever for a short time...in terms of whole career, I'd say Ali or Sugar Ray Robinson.
|
Roy Jones Jr will be on that list 10 years from now
|
Roy Jones, gangsta .. watch those slick moves
|
I think Sugar Ray was the most entertaining and one of the best boxers of all time.
I did get into Prince Nazeem he was awesome to watch when on UK TV, kinda lost touch though i think he got his ass kicked in the US a year or so back, shame I liked the little loud mouthed twat. RACEMAN :thumbsup |

Very unorthodox fighting style, but when he landed one of those crazy roundhouses guys usually dropped. |
Ali of course:)
|
Rocky Marciano
|
No question.... Ali
Ali in his prime vs Tyson in his prime would be Ali every time. He was faster and SMARTER then Tyson ever could dream of. Tyson was in his prime against a VERY weak field, compared to the field Ali had. Tyson would not fight Foreman, an OLD Foreman, who has only been knocked down 1 time ever. Why? He knew all his power would be useless vs someone as tall as George and how would ?the baddest man on the planet? look if he couldn?t knock down/out an OLD man? |

It was a real crime he was unable to fight in what would have been his best years. :( |
Foreman was a serious bad ass... anyone who remembers Foreman in his prime will tell you he was not that jolly fellow he portrays on his infomercials.
|
ali no doubt
|
Jack Dempsey
Mike Tyson ALI Joe Louis and butterbean, just cause hes so damn fat. roy jones Jr. and sugar ray not in that order |
Ali..you have to consider what this man did for the sport and the era he was in.
|
Sam Langford, Sugar Ray Robinson or the young Ali
you guys need to put http://www.maxboxing.com in your bookmarks, read some archives. Don't have Dempsey and Foreman as your all time best boxers hehe that's embarassing... |
Ali
|
Man, what about Larry Holmes? Look HERE my family is good friends with him, my uncle went to school with him in Easton, PA.
:thumbsup |
Sugar Ray Robinson
|
Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Roy Jone Jr.
With Jone Jr. being the most gifted fighter of all time |
What people forget when talking about Iron Mike is the fact that he
- was one of the hardest hitting boxers in history, period - deadly accuracy - landed power combos to the body and chin like no other in history, that left hook to the body and then to the chin is just classic - had incredible speed - had great definsive skills (head movement and footwork that enabled him to get into close range with guys 1 feet bigger than him without even getting touched) - had a very very good chin, this guy could really take a beating In his prime he walked through REALLY good opponents - people with a great jab, a good offense etc. - walked through them like it was nothing and hurt them BAD! Guys like Ali, Foreman etc. never made it look so easy. Then again, to consider Mike to be the alltime greatest - he didn't win MOST of his important fights. Lost to Douglas, Holyfield x 2, Lewis... Career decicive losses that kinda keep a shadow over his career. |
Ali is the greatest. More books on him exist in the world then on Jesus.
Ray Jones Jr is getting close to being my 2nd best ever. |
A close 2nd would be Gerry Cooney :winkwink:
|
Ali of course
|
Roy jones is by far the best boxer of all time

Ali - master at the mental game of boxing
Foreman - longevity and strength isnt matched Tyson - pure animal rage Holyfield - heart of a champion |
