At what point do you consider another webmaster a 'friend' ?
After doing business with them...
When you go to bat for each other on the boards... After countless late night ICQ conversations... After you meet them at a convention... When you are actually going out of your way to visit them face to face outside of some event... What constitutes a friendship with someone in this biz? It seems harder and harder to trust what you hear each and every day. Too much bad joojoo. |
After a long night of snuggling

the two that I've tried to be friends with both turned out to be cock suckers

i consider many webmasters friends, lots i have met on a board, icqed and developed a friendship, helping each other out in our chosen areas etc or just chatting to them. Also meeting people in person is fun and i think helps transition the person from fellow webmaster to friend

Ok, so far we got:
After a long night of snuggling After I give them an STD After I get an STD. after a reach-aroundas soon as thery stop hitting on me or my gf! as soon as they pay the protection money giving me a hard link does it for me... Anymore? |

I'd say going to bat for one another...on the boards and off.
Being one of the first people they'd consider sending biz your way or you theirs. Doing favors, cutting deals you wouldn't cut with anyone else. |

Too many people forget their roots too easily to base a friendship off of that. Though the rest is valid, I think. |
