You know I have no love for the police myself.. I have met one or two cops in my life that were acutally ok people. There have been a few that I wouldn't mind if they got popped.

The fact is that too many of them have a bad attitude and something to prove. Couple this with the fact that they have guns and the authorization to use them, and they do turn into the bad guys on a pretty regular basis. I know in Seattle, I would never want to have a run in with the law, and I am white! They have a nasty habit of shooting people for questionable reasons... "I thought he had a gun..." Yeah right..

Protect and serve is what they are supposed to do, not scare and threaten..

I called cops in a similar situation - they let the guy go cause he was a buddy of theirs.

won't do that again - i'll handle it my way.

and although a cop really don't deserve to die - i'm inclinded to side more with TDF here. I havn't done anything illegial but I've had run ins with a lot of cops on power trips.

But lets keep things in perspective here... cops are not even in the TOP 10 of the deadliest jobs... construction workers, fishermen, etc... are... but , those jobs are not glamorous... since they dont save lives.. they cannot be seen as heros.... but are they less courageous?
