Secrets to getting good concert tickets ?

Tickets go on sale Monday for a concert. Anyone have tips or strategies on getting good tickets quickly ?

i've always used sweetseats.com - but they seemed to be fucked up right now (the database).

buy them scalped for more $. generally they reserve all the good seats for the whoever is performing's comp tickets and whoever works there or whatever. i've gone to sold out shows at the last minute and got 2nd or third row because they still had comp tickets left over.

I hate the surcharge that the ticket outlets make you pay per ticket. :BangBang:

In our area, unless you go down to the venue, you will pay it.

Sometimes the performer has the good tickets for sale on their website. If you join their club you can buy the preferred seating.

I went to a hockey game the other night (GO HABS GO) ; bought the tix online through their site, picked them up at the box office, and still baid two different handling fees.

I just bought some Aerosmith tickets for a friend. I went to ticketmaster a day after tickets were released and they were allready at the nose bleed sections. I found a couple of decent expensive floor seats auctioning online, but ebay definitely had the cheapest and best seats available!

It used to be online, but now everyone does it.

It was great the first year of ticketmaster as you could scoop front tickets easily

tickets for what show / band?

Sosa 02-27-2004 09:45 AM

go stand in line at the ticket office the night before

My tip is this:

Get to know the manager of the box office. My friends, girlfriends uncle is best friends with the manager of the box office at the biggest concert arena in Scotland :)

If TicketMaster is doing the sale, then do this:

On the day and minute the tickets go on sale, call a Ticketmaster 4 states away in the same time zone. All of the people light up the phones on their local (in state) Ticketmaster, but no one calls any of the ones in other states. The logic is, no one in Virginia is rushing to go to a show in Florida.

Works all the time, you will get 2nd and 3rd row seats using the above method.

Or, find out who the promoter is. If you have a pedigree of coolness, the promoter will hook you up.

i used to be online or i go to the ticket booth

Mr. Marks 03-17-2004 08:08 PM

Go get them early. Buy by bulk, they might give you discounts when you but 10 or more tickets.

Blow the morning man of the radio station promoting the concert.
