So is CPM and CPA the new wave in advertising for this biz
What are you thoughts on this issue. Seeing as ars has gone this route. Is pay for performance and per impression advertising the wave of the future.
Will The price for banner ads on resource boards fall. That was how it worked in the mid to late 90's when i was in the internet advertising game. Thats market collapsed. Now is it going to be revived in adult. We are usually trend setters but are we going to revert to an old model. I think it started with the selling of sigs which is nothing more than impression based advertising. I really think the days of spending Loads of advetising dollars on top banner spots is going to come to an end. I just dont think they are as effictivfe as they once were.I have maybe clicked on 20 top banners here but have clicked on several hundred sigs. It is a more in your face type of advertising and therefor more effictive IMO. So what happens now to the board owners do they force all sig banners to link to there ref codes for thier ad revenue. Thoughts.... |
What is that echo.

i'm sure the length of your post turned away many people ;)
i don't think it's the future of the biz. ars is doing cpm advertising solely for branding purposes. compare the amount of threads about the playboycash skin to the amount of threads about ars sigs. marc de himself said it was a branding move. it's not different than pimpdog's trash talking. ars will lower their payouts within a week or two. |

no way its a trend. no company can afford this for very long
|
well someone is talking about ars every other moment. so it must be working. they'll keep it long enough to brand their new program.
|
CPA is old ,no one trusts CPA anymore . I know from painful experience ,I sold CPA deals when I worked for a nonadult dotcom alomst two years ago it was tough
|
excuse my ignorance, but what is CPA?
|
Yeah, don't think this will last. ARS still did a good job getting big publicity. :thumbsup
|
Excuse me for laughing but ARS is losing money on it? :1orglaugh
Shows the shortsightedness of some of you people. |

seriously. WEGCash gave out $17K in 3.5 months and everyone thought it was a great marketing tactic when they announced it. |

I guess people forget to factor in the joins new webmasters would be sending for years and years down the road. ARS is huge, they have plenty of bankroll to invest for the future if they chose that route. |
crazy marc de killed it on this one
awesome marketing and branding skills |
I think for ARS it's especially usefull for branding, so for other companies it would work too
if it's the future... I dunno, I still prefer flat fee |
My point was that I dont think the old way of top banner spots is as effictive as it once wasand i think advertisisers are seing this.
And I can see the move if it happens being good for sponsors and boards. more branding and maybe more money for the boards if they use thier own ref codes in sig ads to generate revenue versus selling top banner spots. |
