Adult internet firsts!
Who started the first adult pay site?
Who started the first TGP? Who started the first adult billing service? Who started the first adult link list? Who started the first affiliate program? Who first broke a million in sales? Someone should start the GFY world records list. worst site worst spammer most hated webmaster etc. :thumbsup |
most of those are debatable and will have different replies depending on who is kissing who's ass on a particular day.

I think Persian Kitty might have been the first to break a mil back in 1996.
Also, she might have started one of the first adult link lists. the others I have no idea. |
those are really good questions, there should have been an adult internet historian keeping tabs of all of this, now our kids will never know :(
|
I should add:
who bought the first adult domain name? sex.com??? |

In the first TGP category.
Marks Book Marks Pure XTC Those two would be in the running I think. Oh, Big Als Gals. Don't think that is still around. |
I always thought thehun was the first TGP... oh well...
|
i think the question shouldn't be the first whatever but the first successful whatever.
the first tgp didn't necessarily get visitors or make any cash. |
Hu, I think Ron Levy was one of the first ... He was there already at the BBS era
sex.com : Record created on 18-Oct-1995. Persiankitty.com : Record created on 05-Dec-1995 Cybererotica : Creation date: 09 Feb 1996 00:00:00 |
Somewhere on a board a year or two ago I read a long thread where old timers discussed these things and funny stories from when porn on the net were born.

Dean Shannon has been out of adult for longer than he was in I think, but he had the original playgal.com Scott Phillips (Adwealth.com) and Greg Lasrado (SharedEarnings.com) had pinkbits (pbits.com) also in the early days I think Scott and Greg worked with Ron a fair bit early on. Some of the stories are quite eye opening... :2 cents: |
I cant believe xxx.com makes 100% of its revenue off of dialers
|
clickcash.com use to have 3 sites you could advertise. 2 of the sites paid .02 per unique. and 1 of the sites paid .04 per unique. and you had to use their banners.
i think they were one of the firsts, before they moved on to the webcam thing. |
