No reason to care about him but if you enjoy listening to standup comedy the guy was quite amazing. I am an extremely openminded person and he is one of the few comics to ever make me squirm... but think. Hard to really describe him in so few words, kinda proudly cynical agnostic but as philosophical as the most master poet and quite intense at times. Definitely one of a kind in the Kinneson sort of way.
He died of pancreatic cancer at 32 waay before his star peaked.
If you ever get the chance to rent/buy/borrow/steal one of his complete concert videos you are in for an experience you won't soon forget, even if you don't appreciate his humor. There's some audio and video on his website http://www.billhicks.com and I've seen some of his tracks floating around Kazaa. Definitely a voice we could use today.
