The HBO six feet under show is one of the best shows I have ever seen. :)

Is it common in the USA with family funeral homes?

Like in the serie, where they prepare the corpse in the basement, and have a "funeral like thing" inside the house for relatives ?

i dont know if they always have the preparation at the funeral home, but yes they do have those all over in the us.

Ever seen "my girl"?

At a local family operated one they actually LIVE in the same building as the funeral home. Reception is out front, the "medical" stuff happens in the basement, and the back of the place is their house. You wouldn't know that when you're in the place, but it's still pretty creepy.
