The Passion Of Christ's Sheep

Goddamit, I'm already sick of hearing about this stupid fucking piece of fiction. I can't turn on the television without hearing how powerful or violent or two-thumbs-uppish this movie is. Here's a clue, people.

- Yes, it will increase hatred of Jews because that's what religion is about in the first place -- exclusion by inclusion. If you're not part of "them", you're not doing it right. Religion is merely a way to subordinate the masses (among other nefarious things).

No one cares about your fairy in the sky. No sane person believes that some mystical man, who incidentally would've been Middle Eastern looking and not Western looking, came back to life and made the world a nice-nice better place.

It amazes me that people believe this shit just because it was tunneled into their subconscious as children. It's a mass brainwashing and it's sickening.

What's even more amazing is that Christians tell me I'm loopy for not believing that some magical fairy man from 2000+ years ago is my one lord and savior. HELLO, fine Christians, isn't it MORE PLAUSIBLE that we are simply the product of scientific events that can be at least somewhat corroborated? NO, INFIDEL, We were *poofed* out by GOD in seven days...that's much more believable.

The fact that people are actually watching this movie as if it were fact is laughable.

THERE IS NO GOD^^

^^ but if God makes you a better person and doesn't fill you with your natural desire to rape children and kill me, go on believing, sheep! Makes my life better.

StuartD 02-25-2004 10:49 AM

what is it you're trying to say?

LOL... I am no big fan of religion myself... I don't really care what people believe in, but I really wish they would or could keep it out of their politics!

Hey, just got this email....

Mel Gibson is taking harsh criticism for his new movie that?s so graphic, so controversial not even Hollywood would touch it. But that didn?t stop Mel who is said to have spent over 25 million dollars of his own money to produce what many are calling?

?The greatest hero movie of all time?.

After successful movies like The Patriot, and Braveheart Mel Gibson should have no trouble producing a movie about the greatest hero in history. Unless of course that hero is named Jesus. Enter the controversy.

The movie which depicts the final 12 hours of Jesus? life has raised an uproar with the religious community about what they call an anti-semetic message.

In addition the movie has officially received an ?R? rating for it?s startlingly violent depiction of Christ?s final moments before being inevitably crucified. One person who saw a pre-screening of the movie described the scene as...

?The most graphic beating I?ve seen on film.?

While still many others were said to have ?lost their lunch during the scene?.

Despite all this nearly everyone who?s seen the movie describes it as a life changing event.

The movie will officially be released in theaters nationwide on February 25th and we need your opinion now. Please go to http://www.passionmoviesurvey.com to complete a brief survey about the film. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win a 2003 H2 Hummer.

P.S.

Please feel free to forward this email.

buddyjuf 02-25-2004 11:01 AM

dude, what you are saying appears wrong to me

I do not believe in god either, but I do not go telling people not to believe in god, that is just wrong

everybody is allowed to believe in what he/she chooses to
as a child, I went to an armenian school, and armenians are one of the most religious people I know (first to convert to christianity)

after time and thought, I have come to my own desicion not to believe in god

for everybody who does, I do not try to debate them. in fact, I am happy of the existance of religion

without religion, society would be corrupt. it holds a key place in our society to keep things running smooth, teaches us what the moral things are.

the movie, I will go see it. not because I believe, not because I Want to be reconverted to christianity, but because Jesus DID walk the earth and had a story to tell. his story could be fiction or true, but he is pretty much the most popular man known to mankind and I would like to see his story

don't mess with other people's beliefs, it only makes you enemies

NoCarrier 02-25-2004 11:02 AM

You're sick of hearing about it, but you start a new thread about it? WTF? :eek7

rooster 02-25-2004 11:02 AM

telling the truth about the jews doesent make someone anti-semetic.

now who is really the sheep.

loverboy 02-25-2004 11:09 AM

Much of the controversy has been about the filmmaker's beliefs. Gibson is a member of an ultra-conservative Roman Catholic group termed "Traditionalists." This group does not recognize the Catholic Church's efforts to modernize at the Second Vatican Council held in the 1960s, and has been widely perceived to still blame the Jews for the death of Christ (a belief rejected by Vatican II). So, sight unseen, the movie was condemned by many as anti-Semitic.

Lot's of audience who have watched "The Passion," say is not anti-Semitic, nor dothey believe Gibson promotes any such feelings in the film.

People have been distorting the Bible to fit their own beliefs for centuries. Nothing new.

It is also very clear that anyone who is predisposed towards anti-Semitism could easily twist this film to fit his or her own agenda.

Brujah 02-25-2004 11:12 AM

The message needs to be spread.

I'm not telling anyone not to believe in God. I'm stating my opinion which is in no way to be misconstrued as an endorsement for theism or atheism.

No.No.No.No.No. Don't fall into that trap. Religion adds to the corruption of society but more tragically, it validates that corruption through "divine doctrine" in the minds of believers. Wars are waged over religion, people are killed, women are raped and oppresed because of religion. Religion has done more for the corruption and devastation of society than any other single belief or event. Modern day examples can be found right around the globe in the middle east.

Religion doesn't teach anyone "morals". If that were the case, no priests would have a 10 year old's penis in their hand right now but I guarantee you it's happening at this very moment.

I do believe that religion scares some people into doing good...which is a benefit but I could argue that proper laws and punishment does the same thing without all of the nasty jihad as a result.

People don't need religion, religion needs people.

Throughout history religion is responsible for more atrocities than any government, but thats also due to the fact that it has outlasted all governments. I by no way condone religion myself.

But even in its origins it was meant as a governing body over the people, read the bible, and the commandments and not just the 10 that everyone knows, what follows are tons of other rules that are basically setting up a government and a way for people to interact in their every day lives. Establishing what is right and wrong, and what are the consequences.

jelloman 02-25-2004 11:45 AM

Holy cow, Fappe, I am with you man. I love what you wrote here:

:thumbsup

You don't know how much I dislike religion now... actually, I don't mind religion but I hate the people that BELIEVE IN religion and yet still act like they understand it. Priests know they should not fuck young boys, but some still do... and they still enjoy the priestige of being a Father. That's just so fake and so wrong. If you want to fuck a boy, just admit it. You are responsible for your actions man and stop hiding behind the Bible and pray that SOMEBODY would wash away your sins... yeah, maybe that SOMEBODY washes away this time but you will committ the same sin again...and again..and again.

Might be the dumbest thing I've seen written on this board. You make a broad sweeping generalization regarding religion's implications on society over 1000's of years based on the acts of a few individuals currently.

There's enough non biblical scientific data to support the existence of Jesus. Even those who don't believe he was the Son of God as he claimed admit his teachings were revolutionary and have stood the test of time.

Your theories work about as well as www.fapped.com

BTW, 7 "days" to God could be anything to us. His days prior to creation would not have been measured by the rotation of the earth...

Probono 02-25-2004 12:45 PM

Whether there was a Christ or not is moot. If Christians followed his word this would be a better world. Unfortunately throughout history relgion, all religion, has been used as tool of the power elite to control the lives of those who believe.

This is a violent move that makes Gibson's other movies look placid, I wonder how all the religious people who condem violence on the screen can justify sending their masses to see this movie?

It always cracks me up to to see anti-religion zealots being so outspoken about their non-beliefs. These are the same people who whine about the religious believers being "too preachy" and about having to hear about their beliefs all the time.

Hypocrites.

There is no real difference between someone who hates people because they're not religious and someone who hates people because they are.
