"Two hours of gruesome, sadistic, stomach-turning and hard core graphically violent torture detached from any background information is not something to expose kids to, regardless of religion."

Great thing to teach to kids.

I know! I'm laughing so hard I can't stop. I'll probably get kicked out of the theatre for rolling on the floor laughing. Did that during "The Ten Commandments" and half the audience started giggling too.

"This work of obvious devotion may well be the first spiritual splatter film. It makes Gladiator and Braveheart -- even Friday the 13th -- seem mild by comparison."

Titanic was that powerful?

StuartD 02-25-2004 10:43 AM

there's 2 teasers, a trailer and 3 tv spots out there for the movie to give you an idea of what the film is like.

The trailer itself is rated R.... and the most important message it seems to be getting across is that it's "a Mel Gibson film"

Each of them has the same clips from the film over and over again, and in each one, it just seems like they're trying really really hard to make sure you know that it's "a Mel Gibson film"

CamChicks 02-25-2004 10:58 AM

does this mean the MPAA won't castrate/censor horror movies anymore? :) or can only christians get away with "gruesome, sadistic, stomach-turning and hard core graphically violent torture" ....? :321GFY

now nothing less bloody/violent than this may be threatened with an NC-17, right mpaa?

Maybe the sequel will have Jason and Freddy show up and get revenge on the Romans and citizens that condemned him.

It could be in 3D with Angelina Jolie.

Soundtrack by Megadeth and Korn and Whitesnake.

christians prove their faith by selling it to you.

Mel Gibson wants us all to burn.

When I heard they were predicting a $40-50 million opening weekend my first thought was: Is there going to be a sequel? hehe

Yeah a sequel will cover the 3 1/2 days after his death...up to when the enterprise comes and beams him up. :1orglaugh

"The Passion of the Christ plays like a blend of a political-theology lesson and a snuff film."

ROFL! They can show him fighting satan with grenade launchers and pulse weapons. He teams up with a bunch of rag tag fallen angels and really makes heck break loose. Starring Vin Diesel, Arnold, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Christopher Walken can play the devil. Directed by Quentin Tarantino.
