StatsRemote.com $250 Design Contest
 

We need a new header for http://www.statsremote.com/

Here's the current header:

I know it sucks :)

The size needs to be 715 x 48 and the logo should stay on the left.

The following things should be included:

1. 2004 XBiz Award Winner - Most Innovative Product

2. 5 Cow Rating At Tucows.com (including URL=http://www.statsremote.com/contest/tucows.gif]these 5 cows[/URL])

1. + 2. can appear alternately and it should be possible to add more things easily.

3. Language options (English, French and German)... flags or pull down menu or other options. As we're not quite ready yet to launch the French and German sites it should be possible to easily remove and add the language options. Also, it should be possible to add more languages easily.

Font should be Verdana.

The logo could need some spicing up as well, e.g. 3D effects...

The winner will be announced on Saturday. We will also need some banners, so the winner will get a bit more work from us after this contest :)

Hmmm... all the spec? We're talking about a few lines of text and three flags or a pull down menu here. IMHO it's not much different to a banner design and who pays $250 for one banner? :)

Only the header will be changed... and we don't want it to be too fancy...

People have come to expect that designers are cheap whores, because some act like those.

This contest will take off like all others. 250 was even too much. 100$ would have been a carot big enough to make the mules work.

If the host of the contest had any sense of brand design he would have realized, that he already has a good logo on hand. It would only need some tweeking for a fresher look.

All the other specs he gives in the header should be treated with a redesign of the whole portal.

But if a "contest" is what he likes , he´ll get what he wished for...

It was done in 20 min. The logo needs some work but I guess the idea is clear...

Thanks for the entries so far. Some very nice ideas but IMHO they don't really fit to the rest of our site design. I integrated the headers into our frontpage. See for yourself...
