good news for some of you: Airline shows fatter passengers the bottom line

DOES my seat look big in this? One airline has decided to use passengers? clothes size to determine the width of its economy-class berths.
Maersk Air believes it is the answer for the more generously proportioned passenger who finds economy class akin to torture but is not prepared to pay for an upgrade.

Travellers who admit to being large or extra-large can pay for a bigger seat on the airline?s Scandinavian routes.

However, those who do will also find that a fat wallet comes in handy. A small seat comes in at £45 return and a medium at around £90. But the extra-large starts at around £270.

no and they don't deserve special punisment either.

fucking planes are so god damn packed tight anyway...that shit is just way too small even back when I was a skinny guy I felt like I was going to freak out from claustraphobia.

It's about time they made more space in all seats without having to pay extra for them. I'm quite small and I find the seats a nightmare so I can only imagine how a bigger person feels.

Well if the seats were actually proportion to the realistic size of the majority there wouldn't be much of an issue....:2 cents:

well my ass would fit on any seat without a problem. adjusting sizes for people who are extremely large only accomodates for an ever increasing problem - obesity. perhaps we should have less options for "supersizing" everything, starting with food portions and including the size of airplane seats.

next we'll have to start making doorways wider
(and of course, it's the doors fault)

true. if upsizing ceased to exist surely this would cause the number of fat seats required to decrease ;)
