I say don't give it to him. If you do next thing you know he is probably gonna throw up some web site about how to get free memberships by making up lame stories and then everyone will be writing shit like that.

Ross, give him the membership but find some way to turn it into a PR stunt of some kind. Have him post testimonials on surfer boards, or whatever, if he can get you 2-3 paying members in return then you've more than made your bw costs back, plus he'll turn into a loyal supporter for your site. Reciprocity, if you give people something they'll feel indebted to you and will try to return the favour.

Give it to him, you wont lose that much. And then you have done your good deed for today and you will go to heaven

He'll gain nothing from a trial. However, give the guy a full membership and have him write comprehensive (and positive) reviews of the site and have him post them on surfer boards and blog sites, you'll be amazed how well that could work out. :winkwink:

With that said I wouldn't give him anything. You can't really be sure of his age or who he is (Could be 13 years old). A kind reply letter would suffice.
