Firefox browser... anyone use this?

What do yall think?

Myst 02-24-2004 03:03 AM

id never use slow ass POS mozilla (firefox)

use MyIE2

Rorschach 02-24-2004 03:03 AM

I think it's great. It's what I use all day every day on my main OS (Linux), for the once a month I use windows I'd say Opera is a little better though. IE is just awful.

Manowar 02-24-2004 03:05 AM

Been using it since it was called Phoenix, awesome browser - i couldn't live without it

Brujah 02-24-2004 03:05 AM

I like it. I'm still using Opera mostly out of habit tho.

ackilles 02-24-2004 03:06 AM

Yup, it rocks. Far better than that POS ass explorer that hasn't been updated for 3 years. I'm a huge fan of tabbed browsing and Firefox (as well as Mozilla) allow you to sort bookmarks far, far better.

twistyneck 02-24-2004 03:07 AM

I want to try it. Post a link, I'm way too fucking lazy to find it myself.

Tab browsing, auto popup blocker and lots more.

Go to the homepage - www.mozilla.org/products/firefox - for details

More stable, standards compliance, proper css support, tabbed browsing, integrated pop up killer, lots of really useful extentions, open source, less holes, uses less processes...

Mr. Marks 02-24-2004 03:17 AM

Thanks, I love the TAB browsing.

Not too bad. I can't say that it is really any faster than IE because on cable everything is fast but it has a nice look and feel to it. I think I'll use it for a bit.

The best part is that it still has the old bookmarks that Netscape 4.x had and they are much, much more user friendly than the IE favorites.

Not sure what kind of machine you're on but it's definitely faster over here on my P4 2.6. It freakin flies, pages load almost instantly.

Look for how to enable pipelining too. That might help.

DarkJedi 02-24-2004 04:10 AM

its a good browser.
try it.

pudcat 02-24-2004 04:14 AM

too lazy to upgrade to the latest version, still using 0.7

firefox rocks!

Intrigue 02-24-2004 10:54 AM

I use firefox as my default browser, and thunderbird as my email client, they both piss all over IE / OE, Outlook. The only bad part is when i'm developing something, and everything looks all good in firefox, go to ie and have to butcher it so it even remotely resembles it. Someone needs to give MS a swift kick, and get them to become more standards compliant, or (like this would ever happen) get them to use gecko for IE :)

Doc911 02-24-2004 11:26 AM

The only thing I use IE for now is CCBill (java support suks on Mozilla/Firefox; crashes bad and is slow as fuck) and my online banking (requires IE).
