Just got new furniture.. but....

okay, so i spent 3k cash and got some new leather & tables..

cool, I thought.. so the big delivery day gets here ( last week )

they drop the shit off and leave. We inspect the furniture, only
to find a small tear in the leather, so we called the furniture place
right then. They said that they would have an upholstery person come take a look in a few days.

Well then we find that a board is broke behind the rip..

upholstery guy is a no show on one appointment, finally makes the second appointment. He wants to order parts and fix the boards in the seat of the couch. (which could take a month+)

He just left, I think that I should call the furniture place and demand a new replacement. I have the right to new undamaged/ unrefurbished furniture right?? lol

:feels-hot

Most of the time you have to give them a chance to repair it before they will give you a replacement

this is what happens when ordering furniture, but very few stores with quality furniture will sell you what they have on thier floor, its always order it and wait

I would demand a new one in a very firm but pleasant manner. Get too pissed and people don't want to help you.

The reason I would give is that if they have to replace that piece of leather chances are there will be a difference in the grain, color or feel of the leather and be noticeable.

They might say they will "repair" the leather, however that will make the piece sub-standard and that is not what you paid for. The repaired portion, no matter what they say will always be prone to damage.

You paid for a brand new, undamaged couch in perfect condition and while you understand things happen, that is what you expect to receive. Furniture stores have departments for damaged furniture at greatly reduced prices and since you did not shop in that department you do not feel that the couch that was delivered to you should be something that is normally sold in that department.
