come on, ya gotta go back into some history when football players were for real

shermo 02-22-2004 09:33 PM

It's too tough to call. I think Michael Vickcould definitly be up there though.

Joe Montana has to be the top at the moment though.

That's a good choice. I'm talking about old school, like the 70,80, and 90's players

What? This kid has one ONE playoff game. Right now he's a better RB than QB. The jury is not even out on him, they haven't bothered selecting them yet.

Evil1 02-22-2004 09:40 PM

right now, joe montana, in 15 years, tom brady

Who's the best ever QB in AFC Central?

kenny 02-22-2004 09:43 PM

Joe Montana was a very smart quarterback

Terry Bradshaw, Elway, Marino, Johny U, and a few others where pretty good as well

Granted Montana had alot of weapons he still is the west coast offense master mind.

Marnio was accurate with a quick release.

Montana played for K.C. and I just mentioned Aikman I didn't say he was from the AFC, but I can see how you got confused.:glugglug

OG LennyT 02-22-2004 09:59 PM

The winningest QB ever to play the NFL...

Elway #7 :thumbsup

4Pics 02-22-2004 10:09 PM

I'd have to go with Elway, atleast for QB's I've watched, I liked Montana alot but Elway came back like nobody can and won alot of games in the final 2 minutes.

He also retired at the top of his game, unlike Montana who stretched it out with KC.

sickkittens 02-22-2004 10:10 PM

As far as stats go, Dan Marino hands down. But no Super Bowl so it's easy to say someone like Staubach, Montana, Bradshaw, Starr, Unitas, etc.

venturi 02-22-2004 10:19 PM

Terry Bradshaw for sure is in the top 3 all time in my opinion. He gets a lot of shit because everyone thinks his receiver corps did all the work but if you watch the tapes that man had one hell of an arm. It looked like he merely flicked the ball and it would sail 50 yards into the hands of Swann and Stalworth. And he was a master of the ground game too. He knew exactly when to fuck up the defense by running a decptive play and give the ball to #32 and watch that man make a train wreck of the defensive line. Oh my, the days of the Steel Curtain were a site to behold. :)

Ar3s 02-22-2004 10:21 PM

Joe Montana for sure!!! the best one :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Veterans Day 02-22-2004 10:23 PM

Jim Kelly was one tough motherfucker who just played on and on. Got to give him that. If they would have won the superbowls they could be considered one of the top3 teams of all time. But since they didnt noones gives them any recognition, sad to cause they had serious hall of fame talent.:thumbsup

Same w/ Marino. He blows everyone away in the stats column.

hershie 02-22-2004 10:25 PM

Toss up between Elway or Montana.

Aikman was ok..

But at the time the Cowboys had that awesome running game with Smith. Making the offense 3d, making Aikmans Job easier

Joe Montana is a pussy. The only time he ever put his heart into the game was when he had contract negotiations coming up. He had amazing talent but didn't give a fuck about the game unless he had a big contract coming up or a true Marquee receiver like Jerry Rice to throw to. When he left SF for KC he fell apart as a leader and a quarterback - frankly he sucked even though he still had the skills and talent to be great. IMO he never played the game because he loved it, he played for money, what a waste of a gift.
Can ya tell I really despise Joe Montana? :Graucho

axelcat 02-22-2004 10:57 PM

Joe montana for sure
