If YOU are the new father to be, let me share a few things with you...

You may feel a little scared now, and there may be a lot of shit to go through, but if you'll open your heart up to that kid and hold nothing back you'll soon wonder why you waited so long.

There is NOTHING in the world better than having a good relationship with your own flesh and blood. Every single stage of their life is so special. My own son is the light of my life. He's only 4 years old right now. Every stage he goes through is so beautiful. I'm always saddened in a way when he outgrows some cute thing he does. But then the next stage is just as cute.

I've even started an online journal to him where I put my thoughts toward him out there for him to read when he's old enough.

Fathers need to put aside the macho attitude when it comes to kids. I hold nothing back from my son. I am very vulnerable to him.

He once almost choked on food. I started freaking out. Fortunately his mother (my ex) was there and was cool headed. She just did what needed to be done. Immediately afterward I started bawling like a baby. I was SO DAMN SCARED.

But I have never in my life experienced greater love. Ever. I never knew it was possible to love this much.

Open yourself up to this new baby and you'll see what I mean.

Holly 02-22-2004 01:12 PM

If you've knocked some bitch up before I even have a chance to see the headset pics, you're dead.

Same thing happened to me while I was typing it. I had to grab a Kleenex.

That's a common reaction for me when thinking of my son. :)

Awesome... congrats? :thumbsup

that's pretty cool...

I've been making a video diary from the 4 or 5 months leading up to my daughter's birth (she's 3 weeks old now) and continuing on for a while... I plan on giving it to her when she turns 16

graphicsbytia 02-22-2004 01:30 PM

kids are so cool.. I'd be lost without mine congrats hon ;)

shermo 02-22-2004 01:31 PM

So what's the verdict? Is this a child that a GF/wife will be having? Are you keeping the baby? How do you feel?

If it's unwanted, I'm very sorry. If it's wanted, relax and get ready to be a great father. :thumbsup

Shit, now I feel bad. :(

Guys, I never said it was mine! It is though a fellow GFYers. Maybe he'll speak up!

But I do agree with all of the above sentiments. Kids are great and you are all very lucky to have them. Keep up the good work!

Congrats ... :thumbsup

Wiz 02-22-2004 01:34 PM

Ah, well then, tell the other GFY'er that all these messages are passed on to him ( or her? ) .

Being a parent really is awesome.

Sosa 02-22-2004 01:35 PM

Congrats to whoever it is :thumbsup

Congratulations!
You can ask for baby donations. Kind of like a GFY baby shower. That would rock!

Edit : Ever hear the song To Zion by lauryn Hill? It's an absolutely beautiful tribute to an unplanned pregnancy..

The best way to get motivated to make more cash is to get a lot of extra expenses. Always works for me, if I've already spent the money then I need to come up with a way to make it back.

Hehe you get over that pretty quick! Now is time to start planning.. 9 months might seem like a long time but the time flies! If you need advice, feel free to hit me up. I can give you some ideas on what you'll need, what you can expect, and things that might make your lady's pregnancy a lot easier! :)
